Description
- We are seeking a detail-oriented, observant, and self-motivated Process Engineer to join our dynamic team at Client's Reality Labs.
- The successful candidate will be responsible for the execution, development, and optimization of innovative physicochemical processes that are core to delivering transformative optical materials for AR/VR applications.
- You will join an agile team that is laser-focused on incubating winning prototypes and establishing new process capabilities with supply-chain partners.
- This role involves hands-on laboratory work, collaboration with cross-functional teams, and contributing to continuous process improvements.
- Handle, prepare, and process organic materials and solutions in a laboratory setting, while observing all safety protocols.
- Implement complex standard operating procedures with precision and efficiency, remaining attentive to detail to detect subtle differences that impact process effectiveness.
- Design experiments to evaluate process feasibility and optimize process parameters.
- Identify and resolve issues in electromechanical systems and equipment used in laboratory processes, involving collaboration with engineering teams.
- Collect, document, and analyze data from laboratory experiments and processes; prepare reports and present findings to relevant stakeholders.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and contribute to material innovation.
- Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Materials Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent
- 4+ years of experience in process development.
- Laboratory experience in handling organic chemicals and solvents, and use of relevant laboratory equipment.
- Demonstrated ability to perform design of experiment (DOE) and data analysis.
- Excellent data handling, documentation, and organization skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ph.D. in relevant degree with background in process development.
- Knowledge of organic chemistry, crystallization process, and transport phenomena.
- Experience with optical metrology and refractive index measurements, e.g. prism coupler.
- Experience with slicing, dicing of a material using diamond wire saw.
- Experience with polishing with mechanical/chemical polishing methods.
- Automating lab equipment using LabVIEW or Java/Python codes.
