Education/Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as Management Information Systems or Computer Science-related field (or equivalent experience) preferred.
Summary:
  • The main function of this role is to support reviewing & refining enhancement requests across multiple 1st party & 3rd party applications; this is a collaborative role, with a focus on partnering with business stakeholders to clearly define problem statements, requirements, and prioritization and translating those to clear, complete technical requirements for engineering partners.
  • A typical business systems analyst is responsible for analyzing user requirements, planning & organizing UAT, communicating status updates, gathering additional information when needed, and balancing forward progress of multiple requests across a variety of business & engineering partner groups.
  • The business systems analyst will also support long-term projects by partnering with solution designers to draft functional & business requirements documents (FRD & BRD), plan & organize UAT, and support hypercare operations.
  • Consistent, timely, clear communication of status updates, blockers, and additional information needed for enhancement request processing. Maintaining up-to-date information in the enhancement request tickets is critical to the success of this role
  • Partner with requestors to clearly define problem statements, success criteria, and business priority of submitted requests
  • Validate business justification & impact statements submitted by requestors and apply the enhancement impact scoring framework.
  • Organize requirements & collaborate with business stakeholders, engineering partners, and team members to answer follow-up questions from engineering & the business
  • Rapid familiarization with multiple internal tools & applications; the business systems analyst must be able to track down information through searching documentation, connecting with subject matter experts, and following the trail of breadcrumbs to get to the most up-to-date information
    Apply sound design & system governance principles to refine & prioritize requirements expressed by stakeholders
    Learn, follow, and help to refine enhancement request & project processes
    Receive and handle escalations from stakeholders; balance empathy for stakeholders with org priorities and engineering capacity
 
Skills:
  • Strong experience in requirements collection & definition, Verbal and written communication skills, problem solving skills, attention to detail and interpersonal skills
  • Strong ability to work independently and manage one’s time
  • Strong knowledge of solution design & business system governance
  • Strong knowledge of business applications & architecture
  • Workday experience preferred but not required
