Description:
The Tech Advisor plays a critical role within the IT Business Relationship Management (BRM) group, serving as a technical liaison between IT and business units. This position supports strategic technology planning, citizen development, and risk management while enabling business users to leverage modern tools and platforms. The Tech Advisor collaborates closely with Customer Engagement Specialists and internal IT teams to ensure seamless delivery of technology solutions aligned with business needs.

Accountabilities:
• Technology Awareness & Advisory
o Stay informed on emerging industry technologies and trends.
o Provide recommendations on technology adoption and innovation opportunities.
• Power Platform Enablement
o Develop and support solutions using PowerApps, Power BI, Power Automate, and Copilot.
o Promote best practices and governance for Power Platform usage.
• Citizen Development Support
o Mentor and guide business users in building low-code/no-code applications.
o Conduct workshops and provide documentation to empower citizen developers.
• Risk Assessment & Disaster Recovery
o Facilitate risk assessments with business units for new and existing applications.
o Support disaster recovery planning and ensure alignment with IT continuity protocols.
• Database & Technical Planning
o Apply foundational database knowledge to support solution design and evaluation.
o Assist in technical estimates and planning for business initiatives.
• IT Coordination & Ticket Resolution
o Coordinate with internal IT groups to resolve technical issues and service requests.
o Track and follow up on IT tickets to ensure timely resolution.
• Business Engagement
o Work directly with business users to understand needs and translate them into technical solutions.
o Collaborate with Customer Engagement Specialists to support business initiatives and technology roadmaps.

Knowledge & Skills:
• Proficiency in Microsoft Power Platform: PowerApps, Power BI, Power Automate, and Copilot.
• Strong understanding of database concepts and data modeling.
• Familiarity with IT service management and ticketing systems.
• Ability to conduct risk assessments and contribute to disaster recovery planning.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for working with business stakeholders.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in IT advisory, application development, or business analysis.
• Experience in a BRM or cross-functional IT/business role.
• Knowledge of agile methodologies and digital transformation practices.

Working Conditions:
• Hybrid work environment with on-site collaboration in Houston, TX.
• Occasional travel may be required for business unit engagement or training.
• Fast-paced, collaborative setting with cross-functional teams.
• May require after-hours support during critical incidents or disaster recovery testing.
