Job Description

Job Title: Accommodations Specialist IV
Duration: 03+ Months
Location: Remote
Must-Have Skills:
  • Strong knowledge of accessibility regulation (with regards to technology products)
  • Experience in making products accessible
  • Strong knowledge of WCAG 2.1 A/AA, Section 508, and ADA digital accessibility standards
Nice-to-have Skills:
  • Has had prior experience in product management
Years of Experience:
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience
Degrees/Certifications Required:
  • ADA/WCAG certifications or trainings
Responsibilities:
  • Review and identify updates to minimum accessibility requirements to ensure they make sense for Reality Labs products.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to update minimum accessibility requirements to ensure future assessments of reality lab products are accurate.  
  • Partner with product teams to roadmap minimum accessibility requirements.
  • Provide subject matter expertise on accessibility through weekly office hours and ad-hoc consultations with product teams. 
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to implement accessibility product requirements into existing review processes
  • Adjust and implement frameworks that help teams uphold our consider everyone Responsible Innovation Principle. 
Minimum Qualifications:
  • 3+ years of experience in the technology sector working on accessibility.
  • Strong program management and leadership skills required.
  • Strong knowledge of WCAG 2.1 A/AA, Section 508, and ADA digital accessibility standards.
  • Familiarity with mixed reality and augmented reality products and how accessibility standards may be translated into the 3D space.
  • 2+ years of experience conducting accessibility audits (automated and manual) and providing recommendations for product improvements. 
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work collaboratively across departments.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Strong adaptability, flexibility, and the ability to work independently without needing much guidance.
  • Experience within strategic problem solving, anticipating future challenges and solving them proactively.
  • Track record of embracing ambiguity, being detail-oriented, and delivering information in a highly organized manner.
Purpose/Size of this team & where does this position fit within the team:
  • Very cross functional group, mostly working with 5 other partners across central accessibility, regulatory readiness teams, partnerships team and product teams
