Job Title: Systems Engineer IV
Location: Redmond WA Onsite
Duration: 6 Months
Job Description: This role demands strong technical expertise in infrastructure and network architecture, coupled with excellent communication and collaboration skills to ensure successful project delivery. You will serve as the primary point of contact for designated projects, coordinating internal resources and leveraging support from supervisory and technical teams when necessary.
Key responsibilities include overseeing client-related activities, managing support tickets, and collaborating with cross-functional partners to ensure timely and successful delivery of project milestones and support requests.

Job Description: This role demands strong technical expertise in infrastructure and network architecture, coupled with excellent communication and collaboration skills to ensure successful project delivery. You will serve as the primary point of contact for designated projects, coordinating internal resources and leveraging support from supervisory and technical teams when necessary.
Key responsibilities include overseeing client-related activities, managing support tickets, and collaborating with cross-functional partners to ensure timely and successful delivery of project milestones and support requests.
Engineer Responsibilities:
- Build, scale, and secure environments within Client's enterprise infrastructure, which is a heterogeneous environment encompassing a broad range of operating systems (Windows, Windows Server, virtualization platforms, and Linux) and applications.
- Apply modern engineering methodologies such as Infrastructure-as-Code, container orchestration, and software-defined storage.
- Implement systems that are scalable, automated, monitored, and well-documented, and provide training to others for operational tasks.
- Identify and leverage the scale and complexity of Meta's larger production infrastructure to solve problems for enterprise customers.
- Participate in incident root cause analysis across multiple infrastructure layers (compute, storage, network) and implement critical solutions while upholding best standards to maintain high reliability of managed systems.
Minimum Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in systems engineering.
- 5+ years of experience automating the management of infrastructure and services.
- 5+ years of experience working with monitoring and configuration management tools such as Chef, Ansible, Puppet, PowerShell DSC, etc.
- 5+ years of experience coding in an object-oriented or functional language such as Python, Ruby, PHP, Rust, Go, and PowerShell scripting (developing advanced functions & modules).
- Thorough understanding of Windows/Windows Server operating system internals and Linux.
- Demonstrated experience in completing tasks and small/medium features with minimal guidance.
- Experience installing and configuring Kubernetes, Docker, OpenCue, and Slurm.
- Prior experience with Linux operating systems and their internals.
Preferred Qualifications:
- BS or MS in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- Prior experience supporting configuration management in a multi-region environment.
- Prior experience building services, PaaS, or internal clouds.
- Prior experience with APIs to streamline administration, management, and monitoring of services.
