Job Summary:
Perform pipe stress analysis using AutoPipe. Coordinate with Pipe Support Engineers and Layout personnel as required.
Major Responsibilities:
- Essential duties include performing pipe stress analysis of systems in accordance with ASME B31.3 Code.
- The stress work includes the modeling of the piping systems to verify piping flexibility, stability, and qualification of equipment nozzle loads.
- Work closely with layout personnel and pipe support engineers to deliver a quality and cost-effective design. Coordinate with other engineering disciplines and vendors as required.
- Working knowledge of dynamic analysis and ASME B31.3 or B31.1 Codes.
- Evaluates, selects, and applies standard plant design and piping engineering?methods, techniques, procedures, and criteria, using independent judgment in making?adaptations and modifications?.
- Participates in reviews and recommends approval of design?drawings and data for compliance with requirements?.
- Analyzes problems with conflicting design requirements, sketches ideas and possible?solutions?.
- Analyzes and reports on the suitability of unconventional materials, techniques, and/or?difficult coordination requirements.?
- Coordinates plant design engineering efforts in assigned areas with specialty groups,?engineering disciplines, the client, vendor, contractors, construction, and other functional?groups.?
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Level I: Bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 5-8 years of relevant experience or 9-12 years of relevant work experience.
- Level II: Bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 8-10 years of relevant experience or 12-14 years of relevant work experience.
Required Knowledge and Skills:
- EIT certification or PE registration preferred.
- Previous Client and/or DOD/DOE project experience preferred.
- Must be a US citizen.
- Must be able to complete and pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check which includes verification of employment, education, and travel.
- Working knowledge of dynamic analysis and ASME B31.3 or B31.1 Codes.
- Prior experience using pipe stress analysis program Bentley AutoPipe.
