Job Description

Job Title: Customer Enrollment & Payment Operations Analyst / Specialist
Location: Irwindale CA 91702/ Hybrid in office 2 days on Wed & Thurs
Duration: 18 months Assignment
Shift/Hours: 40hours/week, M to F 8-5

Day to Day Responsibilities:
This position will play a key role in managing customer enrollment and payment operations for Client’s Flexible Pricing Rate Pilot, as well as conducting additional reporting. This position is responsible for receiving and validating enrollment forms from account managers, submitting eligible customers to a third party supplier for enrollment, and confirming enrollment status back to stakeholders. The role also includes overseeing manual enrollment processes for Automation Service Providers, maintaining detailed metrics on enrollment activity (e.g., number of customers, MW enrolled, benefiters vs. non-benefiters), and tracking billing status. This role will also manage manual customer payments and facilitate payments to contractors and other third parties.

Required Skills:
BA/BS Degree in Business, Economics, Marketing, or related discipline
· Four or more years of experience with business analysis
· Proficiency with analytical tools such as Excel, Access or other similar tools for tracking and reporting
· Ability to understand and conduct payment processing and reconciliation
· Ability to follow and improve upon business processes
· Strong attention to detail to validate information on forms is correct
· Experience with manual data entry
· Ability to coordinate with internal teams and external stakeholders
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills
· Strong organizational and time management skills to handle high-volume tasks during ramp-up periods

Desired Skills:
· Experience with customer programs and billing in a utility or similarly regulated environment
· Familiarity with SAP
· Experience using advanced analytical tools such SAS, Power BI or other similar tools.
· Experience working with budgets.
· Experience creating and using pivot tables, charts, and graphs and the ability to work with larger datasets (e.g., containing data for several hundred thousand accounts).
· Proficiency identifying trends in complex data and arriving at solutions rooted in information.
· Comfort working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
· Demonstrates strong ethics, influence and negotiation, leadership, interpersonal skills, communication, and the ability to effectively manage stress and engage in continuous learning

Hybrid Schedule Requirement
Candidate must be available in-office on Wednesdays and Thursdays each week.
 
Workload Balance & Evolution
Initial 3–4 months will involve heavier data entry until automation is implemented.
After automation, the role will shift toward analysis, reporting, and process improvement.
 
Customer Service & External Interaction
May need to communicate directly with customers, vendors, or third-party providers to resolve issues.
Requires a customer service mindset in addition to analytical skills.
Regulated Industry Experience
Utility background is helpful but not required.
Experience in other regulated industries (e.g., healthcare, medical devices, FDA-regulated environments) is considered relevant and transferable.
 
Analytical Tools Clarification
Excel (advanced) and Power BI are required.
SAS is a strong “nice-to-have” skill, enabling deeper reporting and analysis beyond the pilot.
Mindset & Growth
Candidate should demonstrate a willingness to learn new tools and skills (e.g., SAS, Power BI).
Flexibility to take on varied tasks beyond core responsibilities as the pilot evolves.
 
Candidate Profile Preferences
Strong numbers-oriented background (e.g., accounting, finance, or analytical roles).
Should not be purely clerical; must bring analytical and technical depth.
Blend of business analysis, customer service, and operational accounting experience is ideal.
 
Interview Process
Typically 1 video interview, with a possible 2nd round if needed.
