Job Title: Sr. Manager, Workplace Participant Marketing (Contractor)
Remote opportunity – Preferred work locations: Austin (primary),

Durations - 2 months
 with Possible extension

About the Role
  • The Sr. Manager, Workplace Participant Marketing, contractor role and individual contributor who collaborates with a cross-functional team of partners to support communications and education that will help our participants make the most of their employer-sponsored retirement plan and work toward achieving financial wellness.
  • This work will be done in close collaboration and partnership with teammates from Workplace Participant Marketing, Product Owners, Technology and Production partners, Compliance, and other business partners.
 

Core Responsibilities
Strategic Planning and Management
  • Responsible for the strategic planning, oversight, and management of key regulatory initiatives’ impact on participant communications, education, and experiences.
  • Develop overall approach, process, and project plan to manage the impacts across multiple provision workstreams.
  • Manage the complexity of plan elections, staggered enactment years, and delivery channels.
  • Serve as marketing liaison at core and sub-team meetings, providing frequent initiative updates across marketing and leadership teams.
  • Understand participant experiences and communications to inform on impacts and opportunities with regulatory changes.
  • Work closely with business partners, legal, compliance, digital, B2C and B2B marketing, service communications, and production partners to implement communication plans by required regulatory enactment deadlines.
  • Lead discovery, messaging strategies, and rollout for new retirement plan features.
  • Oversee programming communications within technology platforms as needed.
  • Explore opportunities for efficiencies and scale.
  • Primary Marketing SME for SECURE Act and other regulatory issues.
 
Execution Details
WFS Participant Marketing Manager - Regulatory Development & Execution
  • Works across entire marketing team on executing each of the provisions.
  • Manages inventory, updates where possible, ensures data points.
Daily Function for Marketing Communications Updates (example: RMD)
  • Scope each identified provision, understanding the participant experience.
  • Assessing impacts (knowledge of potential impacts, recognition of sponsor elections/options, what drives variability or suppressions…).
  • Flag if new data points are needed or processes are impacted.
  • Work across the marketing team to inventory and note impacts to existing communications.
  • Work with compliance/legal on approved language and positioning.
  • Oversee updates (preferred).
    • Teams with creative partners.
    • Initiates compliance review.
    • Distributes/uploads to appropriate channels.
    • Finals in Workfront.
  • Track and communicate status of the updates to stakeholders.
  • Ensure completion of updates for each provision.
New Plan Feature Communications
  • Scope the opportunity to understand the participant experience and how it relates to features today.
  • Assess impacts to other work, recognition of sponsor election options.
  • Identify if any programming/data is needed.
  • Resolve if this work is to be completed in conjunction with a new service, requiring more extensive “communications suite” vs. sponsor copy block.
  • Follow marketing communication development process for creative, compliance, rollout as appropriate.
Logic/Data Requirements (example: LTPT, Roth Match)
  • Scope the project and experience.
  • Lead requests for data.
  • Liaison with data, platform teams, sub-team lead.
Infrastructure Build
  • Updates to SFMC and SCMP as appropriate.

  • Communicating clearly, authentically, and persuasively; able to captivate wide-ranging audiences through marketing presentations, effectively relaying information while also inspiring buy-in.

Must Haves
  • Minimum 6+ years of integrated B2C marketing communications experience.
  • Experience in financial services or other highly regulated industry, specifically in retirement plan services and/or workplace benefits.
  • Ability to shift from leading strategy to managing and communicating details of execution.
  • Innovative, big-picture problem solver who defines a compelling vision of the future, and develops breakthrough ideas, whether big or small, that support that vision.
  • Relentless curiosity never satisfied with the status quo, seeking, and implementing recommendations for continuous improvement.
 
Additional Requirements
  • Proficient in MS PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Familiarity with Salesforce Marketing Cloud a plus.
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or related field.

  • Retirement plan industry experience preferred.
