Job Description

Job Title: Business Analyst III/ Crisis Management Exercise Design and Delivery Specialist
Duration: 12 Months
Location: Remote

Overview:
We are seeking a Crisis Management Analyst with 3–5 years of experience to design and facilitate tabletop exercises that enhance the crisis readiness of cross-functional (XFN) teams. This role involves creating realistic scenarios, guiding participants through exercises, and providing actionable recommendations to improve organizational resilience.

Preferred Backgrounds:

  • Crisis management or business continuity experience in tech, banking, or fintech

  • Experience in adult education, training, or delivery

Key Responsibilities:

1. Design and Development

  • Create realistic and customized scenarios for tabletop exercises.

  • Develop potential “injects” that challenge participants and test response strategies.

2. Facilitation

  • Support facilitation of exercises in a low-stress, “no-fault” environment.

  • Guide participants through scenarios while encouraging open discussion.

3. Coordination and Collaboration

  • Work with internal stakeholders (IT, Legal, Communications, Executives) and external partners.

  • Ensure exercise objectives align with business goals and risk management strategies.

4. Documentation and Reporting

  • Capture observations and key takeaways during exercises.

  • Produce detailed After-Action Reports (AARs) summarizing findings, identifying gaps, and recommending improvements.

5. Follow-up and Improvement

  • Track and ensure action items identified in AARs are addressed.

  • Update incident response plans, policies, and procedures based on lessons learned.

6. Training and Program Management

  • Assist in developing and delivering training programs supporting exercise objectives.

  • For senior roles: manage the overall incident readiness program.

7. Additional Responsibilities

  • Provide occasional after-hours support as needed.

  • Contribute to scoped initiatives that strengthen resilience programs.

Required Qualifications:

  • 3–5 years of experience in incident management, business continuity, emergency management, or a related field.

  • In-depth knowledge of Business Continuity and Crisis Management frameworks, leveraging an all-hazards approach.

Core Competencies:

  • Facilitation Skills: Lead group discussions effectively, manage dynamics, and engage diverse audiences.

  • Communication Skills: Write clear, concise reports and interface with technical and non-technical staff, including executives.

  • Analytical Skills: Assess exercise outcomes, identify strengths/weaknesses, and pinpoint areas for improvement.

  • Time Management and Organization: Manage multiple tasks and keep exercises on schedule.

  • Conflict Management: Navigate disagreements in a collaborative, no-fault environment to draw out solutions.
