Job Title: Project Manager
Location: Cambridge, MA 02138 (Hybrid setup preferred: ~1 day/week onsite, rest remote)
Duration: 12 Months (Possibility of extension depending upon business requirements and performance)

Top 3 Must Have Skill Sets:             
  • Proficient in Excel
  • Independent contributor
  • Prior Biotech experience CMC (Chemistry, Manufacturing, and Controls) or process development experience.
  • Knowledge of appropriate software tools for project management (Smartsheet experience preferred)
  • Strong computer savviness.
 
Nice-to-Have Skills:
  • Experience in mid-size to large biotech organizations.
 
Job Description:
  • The ideal candidate is a mid-level Project Manager with 2–5 years of experience in the biotech industry, specifically within Chemistry, Manufacturing, and Controls (CMC) or process development.
  • They should be a highly organized and independent contributor who can manage multiple ongoing projects in Attribute Sciences, particularly within the AMA program.
  • Proficiency with Smartsheet and Excel is essential, along with strong communication skills to partner across diverse project leads.
  • The candidate should bring experience from mid- to large-scale biotech organizations, enabling them to navigate complex matrix structures.
  • Soft skills such as being assertive yet diplomatic, collaborative, and adaptable in a hybrid (Cambridge-based) environment are critical.
 
Job Details:
  • Manages one or more high-level, complex non-technical projects within the constraints of scope, quality, time, and cost to deliver specified requirements
  • Projects may be strategic in nature
 
Responsibilities may include resource allocation and all phases of the development life cycle:
  • Feasibility study
  • Requirements gathering
  • Analysis
  • ROI evaluation
  • Business plan development
  • Design
  • Testing
  • Implementation planning
  • Regularly interacts with management
  • Coordinates and directs the activities of project team members
  • May be responsible for cross-functional teams
  • Ensures all project requirements and/or objectives are documented
  • May obtain and manage external resources required for project completion
 
Day to Day Responsibilities:          
  • Partner with attribute sciences' team leads to draft and maintain their project plan.
  • Attends project meetings to assess any potential revisions to the project plan.
 
Skills:
  • Expertise in running medium to large scale projects
  • Excellent understanding of project management processes and procedures
  • Experience with project management and analyst methodologies and best practices
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Knowledge of business process development best practices and change management
  • Proficiency in MS Project, MS Word, Visio, MS PowerPoint, and MS Excel
  • Understanding of systems for sharing and collaboration
 
Basic Qualifications:
  • Doctorate degree or Master’s degree and 2 years of experience.
OR
  • Bachelor’s degree and 4 years of experience.
OR
  • Associate’s degree and 8 years of experience.
OR
  • High school diploma/GED and 10 years of experience.
 
Possible Extension: Yes
 
Red Flags:      
  • No prior project management experience
  • No prior biotech or CMC experience (e.g., candidates from software/semiconductor industries).
  • Overqualification (e.g., PhD with 10+ years experience).
  • Candidates with more than ~5 years industry experience (role is mid-level, not senior).
  • Poor communication skills or lack of computer proficiency.
  • Gaps in employment history without explanation.
  • Heavy job-hopping.
 
Interview Process: 
  • Virtual interviews (camera required).
  • Format: Likely 1–2 panel sessions with up to 4 interviewers total
