Job Title: Business Systems Analyst III
Location: Remote (Strong preference for EST. Open to CST and PST)
Duration: 6 months
 
Summary:

• The main function of a business systems analyst is to analyze science, engineering, business and all other data processing problems for application to electronic data processing systems. A typical business systems analyst is responsible for analyzing user requirements, procedures and problems to automate or improve existing systems and review computer system capabilities, workflow and scheduling limitations.

 
Job Responsibilities:

1. Gather requirements from business units and translate those to programmers and developers.
2. Confer with clients regarding the nature of the information processing or computation needs.
3. Prepare cost-benefit and return-on-investment analyses to aid in decisions on system implementation.
4. Interview or survey workers, observe job performance or perform the job to determine what information is processed and how it is processed.
5. Coordinate and link the computer systems within an organization to increase compatibility and so information can be shared.
6. Consult with management to ensure agreement on system principles.
7. Expand or modify system to serve new purposes or improve work flow.

Education/Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as computer science, computer engineering or related field required. MBA or other related advanced degree preferred.

Top 3 must-have HARD skills:    

1. Experience working with budgets and finance
2. Familiar with systems reporting, data dashboards, etc to pull information and analyze
3. Google sheets and excel 

Good to have skills:       

1. Knowledge about data and cloud computing platforms
2. Knowledge of general business strategy and operations
3. Experience driving internal communications 

Interview process:

• 30-minute screen
• 2, 30-minute interviews 

Typical Day in the Role:

• Work with the CWAM to identify owners across the internal budgeting system. The CWAM will ask them to generate weekly and monthly reports. They will need to go and find the information and give the CWAM an analysis. Will need to generate forecasting. 

How will performance be measured:    

• How well they are able to recognize trends and analyze the information given to them. Proactiveness with pulling data and coordinating data.
