Duration: 12 months
The Electrical Specialist is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems. They will work with a team of engineers, technicians, and other professionals to ensure that electrical systems are operating safely and efficiently.

Duration: 12 months
The Electrical Specialist is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems. They will work with a team of engineers, technicians, and other professionals to ensure that electrical systems are operating safely and efficiently.
- Provides daily support to the FLS and electricians, including oversight of maintenance and repair quality
- Interfaces daily (preferably face-to-face) with those directing electricians to determine craft support and oversight needs – no expectation for the specialist to V&V all work in the field
- It is not intended for the specialist to be the “first-call” or alleviate base unit maintenance from performing their basic troubleshooting duties
- Expectation for the specialist to continue to push work down to technicians to empower them over time
- Provides repair recommendations and consultation
- Communicates with the Business Team to capture vulnerabilities of electrical equipment and provides recommendations for repairs of electrical equipment as needed
- Abnormal and Non-Routine Operations Event Support
- Provide technical guidance to business teams in response to electrical events
- Performs RCFA for failures (low IRAT / informal investigations)
- Mentors, trains, and evaluates electricians to foster functional excellence
- Provides input on craft training plans for electricians
- Identifies training opportunities and works with the Craft organization to address training needs
- Provides day-to-day mentorship and feedback on Electrician performance and is a role model for adherence to safety and quality standards
- Leads training courses/lunch and learns for technicians
- Supports oversight of the equipment PM’s identifying additions, deletions, or interval modifications
- Supports reliability/engineering as needed for bad actor updates and annual plan development
- Creates and/or updates SCD or specific mechanical procedures as needed with engineering/execution engagement
- Be actively involved in bad actor resolution, etc.
- Participates in RCM’s, RBWS’s, ES’s, etc.
- Driving craft procedures and standards knowledge
- Safety Standard adherence
- Inspects quality of craftsmanship with respect to NEC, site installation standards, GPs, maintenance/repair standards, maintenance strategies/checklists, etc.
- Drives improvement in Craft standards based on field observation (identifies improvements proactively and works with the Craft organization, Engineering, etc. to complete changes)
- Drives through planners the addition of value-added preventative maintenance tasks while eliminating fewer effective tasks based on RCFA and field observation
- Identifies spare part gaps and stewards resolution with planning – Lead resolution to obsolete spares
- Identifies infrastructure improvements for Business Team Annual Planning
- Fosters a culture of ownership for supported equipment and areas (surveillance and housekeeping)
- Provide technical planning and execution support of multi-year, evergreen reliability improvement initiatives
- Primary Engineering interface for maintenance in relation to craft needs:
- RCFA (mid-high IRAT / formal investigations)
- Bad actor identification and resolution
- Repair recommendations and consultation
- Inputs to equipment infrastructure plans and long-range plans
- Robust equipment knowledge and expertise with the expectation of continuing learning and staying up to date with new technologies
- Specialist will adhere to the following key interfaces
- Techs to direct technical questions to FLS or specialist prior to contacting engineering
- Final work direction is set by FLS
- Under normal circumstances, the Specialist is not expected to perform or own the following from the functions:
- Timekeeping
- Work direction (administrative process)
- Performance reviews (provides feedback only)
- Material ordering (specifies only)
- Driving productivity
