Job Description
Job title: Business or System Analyst – Senior
Location: Phoenix, AZ (Omaha, Southlake, Austin, Phoenix, Lone Tree, Chicago Open to any)
Duration: 12 Months
Key Responsibilities:
• Effectively manage multiple requests and communicate status or key information both with the business as well as internally.
• Work passionately toward engineering highly scalable optimized solutions supporting short and long-term business priorities, with solutions ranging from traditional to more modern, interactive business intelligence and analytic tools.
• Collaborate with product, business, and engineering partners to understand data lineage, the issues, challenges, or enhancements requested in existing reporting.
• Raise issues (such as feasibility, automation/scalability limitations, etc..) or risks associated with the requests raised by the business.
• Understand and adhere to governance processes when enhancing and developing work for production.
• Create and maintain user documentation (in Confluence) around jobs, reports, and dashboards as well as any ongoing data issues.
• Develop domain expertise around key client systems.
• Perform other report development, ad hoc requests, and analysis as needed.
Experience:
• 8+ years of full-time work experience, including 5+ years in an analytical or data science role
• Experience in a multi-functional working model, communicating directly with product owners, data engineers, developers, and user experience researchers.
• Demonstrated success with handling 5-10 concurrent requests.
• Ability to optimize and troubleshoot SQL queries without the assistance of a code generating tool and able to understand existing complex SQL.
• Experience with code development and version control tools such as Visual Studio and Bitbucket/GitHub
• Experience with investing products data is a strong plus
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, as well as the ability to tailor communications to specific audiences.
• Comfort in a dynamic, fast-moving, Agile, and matrix work environment.
• Undergraduate degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, Information Systems, Economics, or other related field.
