Job Title: Product Design Engineer - Power
Location: Austin, TX 78729 (Hybrid)
Duration: 11+ Months(possibility to extend = based on budget/performance, conversion = can’t confirm at this time)

 
Job Summary:
  • You will be working with many internal teams and contract partners, leading package integration and architecture efforts. You will demonstrate creativity in problem solving, ability to think dynamically and outside of standard convention, and adapt quickly to new technical areas. We promote innovation and new technology to further improve our hardware performance and user experience.
  • Work with 3rd party and OSAT to bring packaging solution from concept to HVM.
  • Drive industry with advanced package solutions and specs.
Description:
  • Looking for a highly motivated mechanical engineer to join the iPhone and Mac Hardware - Power
  • & Accessories Team.
  • You will be part of an elite team responsible for conceiving, architecting,designing, and producing exciting new products.
  • Your responsibilities will be extremely dynamic,focused to ensure  Power products continue innovating in balancing cost, size, power, and performance.
  • While contributing to the mechanical design of  products, you will work closely with many cross-functional teams, including Industrial Design, Electrical Hardware Engineering,Thermal Engineering, Reliability, Packaging, Safety, Tooling, EMC, Operations and contract partners.
  • You will be extremely well organized and able to balance numerous program needs simultaneously.
  • Your excellent communication and social skills will help you to quickly grasp issues, understand the
  • details, and drive the appropriate resolution.
  • We work in a highly dynamic environment which will require you to respond quickly to changes, manage competing demands, and find creative, dynamic solutions outside of standard convention.
Required:
  • Experience in mechanical design, developing parts and assemblies in 3D CAD.
  • Innovative thinking, high personal motivation, deep engineering capability.
Preffered:
  • Experience in plastic and metal part design.
  • Experience with design cycle from concept to high volume manufacturing.
  • 3+ years experience in Product Design.
  • Direct management or leadership of product development engineering teams.
  • Unigraphics NX fluency.
  • Expertise in the areas of: GD&T, Tolerance Analysis, Statistical Analysis, Design of Experiments, FEA, Thermal Design.
Education:
  • BS or MS degree in Mechanical Engineering.
Key Qualification:
  • 2+ years’ experience in a mechanical engineering design role.
  • Solid engineering fundamentals: statics, strength of materials, kinematics and mechanism design, and manufacturing
  • Great communication skills, written and verbal, with the ability to clearly communicate design ideas and contribute to brainstorms
  • Eagerness to work in a dynamic environment and dependably complete individual work.
  • Prior experience in other relevant industries promotes diverse perspectives and approaches to solving problems.
