Description:
The client Digital Experience & Research (xRD) team is seeking a skilled Senior Research and Design Specialist to support our Clinical portfolios. You will play a pivotal role in creating user-centered experiences for clinicians and staff. Working closely with product management, design leadership and development teams, you will ensure that our applications and technology-enabled clinical workflows best support care teams in delivering quality care and are aligned with Client's mission of delivering compassionate care. Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end research and design efforts from discovery to delivery, including scoping, planning, workshop facilitation, prioritization, tracking, and managing multiple projects simultaneously
- Plan and conduct generative and evaluative research; synthesize and communicate actionable findings effectively; produce research artifacts such as journey maps and reports
- Meet with stakeholders and users to identify research and design opportunities
- Partner with multiple product pods, working closely with product, engineering, and other designers to create concepts and designs, gather feedback and rapidly iterate, set OKRs, and measure work
- Ensure designs are informed by research and address business and stakeholder needs
- Follow established research and design processes and ensure designs are aligned with design systems and standards
- Deliver design assets, including experience visions, wireframes, prototypes, and flow diagrams
- Contribute to the research and design community of practice and advocate for human-centered design practices
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Interaction Design, UX Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field
- 4+ years of professional experience in research, service design, systems thinking, and/or product design
- Strong knowledge of human-centered design (HCD) principles and experience applying a variety of methods to meet the needs of users and business stakeholders
- Experience conducting research, from informal user feedback sessions to structured qualitative studies, including interviews and evaluative research
- Experience designing within complex ecosystems, such as omnichannel services, in-house applications, or office, clinical, or enterprise software
- Ability to work in ambiguous spaces, identify design opportunities, and iteratively evaluate and refine concepts
- Proven ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers, engineers, and executive stakeholders, and to manage research and design feedback
- Strong facilitation, communication, and storytelling skills, with the ability to incorporate the voice of the user, articulate the value of -HCD, and tie back to business outcomes
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Experience mentoring other researchers and designers
- Experience with Figma and FigJam
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in an innovation pod or start-up environment
- Experience designing integrations using established design systems and libraries; familiarity with EHR design systems is a plus
- Experience designing for healthcare systems and clinical workflows is a plus
- Experience with quantitative research methods is a plus
- Experience designing AI-enabled applications is a plus
- Some limited travel may be required for research, on-site meetings, and team-building activities.
