Duration: 6 months
Description:
Schedule: Mon-Fri hours between 8am – 6pm.
Hybrid: will apply after applicant successfully passes training.
REQUIRED: Pharmacy Technician License (Texas) and Previous pharmacy experience of at least 6 months
IMPORTANT: Verify the applicant is currently certified with the Texas board of pharmacy for a pharmacy technician and not expiring in 90 days from start date.
Confirm applicant has reliable transportation and has the expectation of being on site 5 days a week until they are released from training, which would be at least 30 days depending on performance
Confirm applicant is available during the business hours of 8am – 6pm, applicant will work an 8-hour day with a 30-minute lunch.
Position Summary:

The Pharmacy Technician, under the direct supervision of a registered pharmacist working within a licensed pharmacy, performs the technical, nonjudgmental aspects of entering prescriptions into the pharmacy computer system, medication preparation, record keeping and inventory control.

Tasks are subject to sequential or final verification by a registered pharmacist.

Supports and adheres to the Code of Ethics and Business Standards.

Specific state law may regulate that only licensed individuals perform compounding or mixing responsibilities.

Enter and process new prescriptions into the pharmacy computer system, in accordance with company policy and pharmacy regulations.

Sending and Processing Refill Requests.

Eligibility verification.

Generate refill documentation.

Process third-party claims adjudication.
-
Accurately read and interpret prescriptions.

Verify patient information and ensure proper physician authorization.

Calculate correct dosage volumes and day supply, converting between metric and apothecary equivalents.

Accurately process all orders within our required Service Level Agreements.

Check all orders for completeness of information.

Assist in maintaining the accuracy of software systems.

Understand and work within specific program guidelines.

Assist in working cross-functionally, including handling prescriber calls and shipment-related calls.

Support escalations and assist with communications involving leadership, pharmacists, program management, and third-party hubs.
