Job Title- Product Design Engineer III
Job Duration- 12 months (Hybrid Work Location - 3 days onsite (Tuesday, Wed, Thursday)

Job Summary:
- The Input Devices team is a passionate, hard-working group of engineers from a diverse set of backgrounds and experience levels. Through our support for the iPad and Mac ecosystems, we develop innovative products that form the physical connection between the human body and the technology we seek to operate.
- The Magic comes from how our team intentionally designs with every customer in mind! From the 35 languages our keyboards support, to the multiple grip styles supported by Pencil, to the infinite angle adjustability of our iPad keyboard line, the myriads of customers and the variety of ways they interact with the products we design is always our main focus. We are seeking someone who approaches problem solving with passion, creativity, and curiosity.
Key Qualifications:
- 2+ yrs experience in a mechanical engineering design role.
- Solid engineering fundamentals: statics, strength of materials, kinematics and mechanism design, and manufacturing.
- Great communication skills written and verbal, with the ability to clearly communicate design ideas and contribute to brainstorming.
- Eagerness to work in a dynamic environment and dependably complete individual work.
- Prior experience in other relevant industries promotes diverse perspectives and approaches to solving problems. Our team culture fosters a constant learning environment where many new and relevant skills can be developed on the job.
Description:
- In this highly impactful role, you will use your mechanical design engineering skills to bring our Magic products to life. This looks like:
- Collaborating with industrial designers, hardware, software, product integrity, and technology teams to define the vision of a product.
- Exploring multiple product form factors and developing new product architectures. Defining kinematic behaviors to support ergonomic optimization. Integrating mechanisms, sensors, and other electromechanical components.
- Partnering with internal manufacturing teams and external vendors to optimize designs for function, cosmetics, and manufacturability.
- Ensuring design meets requirements through the life of the product through stress and tolerance analysis, DFMEA, prototyping, testing, and failure analysis.

Education:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in mechanical engineering or closely related major.
