Job Description:

• The client’s Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all the client’s global infrastructure. In other words, we’re the people who keep the cloud running. We support all the clients’ data centers and all of the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on.

• The Global Engineering Strategy team (GES) is looking for a results-oriented, inventive data center engineer to drive development, implementation and delivery of enterprise data centers strategies through the use of the client’s infrastructure builds, which meet strict quality and performance levels across the globe.

 
Reason for Request:

• You will help lead the engineering due diligence efforts for new and expanding regions, while maintaining the highest performance standards and utilizing innovation to reduce budgets and increase efficiency.
• You will work directly with our Real Estate, Risk and Resiliency, Design and Pre-Construction teams on global designs.
• You will assist in data center site selection, review due diligence reports, contribute to site planning and development and play a pivotal role in the delivery of data center designs.

Daily responsibilities:

• Collaborating with internal stakeholders during the due diligence phase to oversee the process and ensure design requirements are considered
• Collaborating with internal teams to gather data to ensure pre-requisites for start of design stage are met.
• Leading the predesign phase and ensuring design ready deliverables are handed over to the design team
• Analysis of major intercepts impact to site plans and strategy
• In conjunction with the Energy Team, work with International Utilities to understand HV/MV substation design and impacts to assess risk and impacts on our builds
• Providing engineering design decisions to the planning team for strategic planning and region selection.
• Collaborating with other disciplines such as mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, architects to assess how our various products can be deployed in that region
• Ability to work on concurrent projects in multiple geographical regions.
• Escalate issues as required and communicate clearly and effectively at the appropriate level of detail with people from a wide range of technical abilities and backgrounds.
• Travel will occasionally be necessary but shouldn’t be more than 25%. International support will be part of the job.

 
Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in architecture/electrical/mechanical or environmental engineering.
• 8+ years of experience with industrial/ commercial design or experience directly related to data center infrastructure and data center planning.
• Proficient with AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam

 
Preferred qualifications

• Possess excellent communication skills, attention to detail, maintain high quality standards
• Proficient with AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam, Navisworks, sketch up and MS Office Suite.
• Proficiency in building codes, regulations, and standard including Local and international standards.

 
Must-Have Skills:

• Land development / civil site development experience
• Design management experience
• Proficient with AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam
