Job Description
Position Title: Pharmacy Technician 2
Work Location: Remote-MO, CA, TX, FL
Assignment Duration: 6 Months (Possible Extension)
Work Schedule: 8am-6pm
Work Arrangement: Remote
Position Summary: Work with the Pharmacists to accurately prepare prescription orders in a timely manner.
Background & Context:
- Surrounding team & key projects: verifying rules for the state for reorders, contact physician’s offices for refills and prescriptions, new business and new system coming, new technology adoption
- Purpose of this team: Reorders
- Reason for the request: New business and new system coming
- Motivators for this need: New technology adoption
Key Responsibilities: - Work with the Pharmacists to accurately prepare prescription orders in a timely manner
- Verifying rules for the state for reorders
- Contact physician’s offices for refills and prescriptions
Qualification & Experience: - High school diploma or equivalent
- 2+ years of pharmacy technician or medical office (i.e., biller, coder, office assistance, or prior authorization/certification) experience
- Familiarity with drugs commonly used to treat chronic/debilitating illnesses
- State pharmacy technician license(s) relative to where the employee and assigned pharmacy are located (exception being NY where a pharmacy technician license is not required). License is required upon hire
- Required: Pharmacy Tech license/Certification and PTCB Registration
- Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree
- Must haves: at least 2 years of retail/hospital experience, good communication skills
- Nice to haves: more than 2 years
- Disqualifiers: strictly working in prior authorization
- Performance indicators: 9 referrals per hour
- Top 3 must-have hard skills:
- At least 1 year of retail/hospital experience
- Good communication skills
