Role: EDI Manager
Location: Johns Creek, GA
Duration: Direct Hire
 
An EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) Manager position, particularly one focusing on the iSeries (AS400) platform, involves overseeing the management and maintenance of EDI systems, ensuring seamless data exchange between a company and its trading partners. This role requires strong technical expertise in EDI standards, iSeries systems, and project management, along with leadership and communication skills.
 
In essence, the EDI Manager (iSeries) role is a blend of technical expertise, project management, and leadership, focused on ensuring the reliable and efficient exchange of data through EDI systems on the iSeries platform.
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • EDI System Management:
Overseeing the daily operations, maintenance, and troubleshooting of the EDI system, ensuring its smooth functioning and optimal performance on the iSeries platform.
  • EDI Strategy and Implementation:
Developing and implementing an EDI strategy aligned with organizational goals, including the design and development of EDI interfaces and maps.
  • Project Management:
Leading and managing EDI-related projects, such as implementing new EDI standards, integrating EDI with other systems, and migrating to new platforms.
  • Team Leadership: Managing and mentoring an EDI team, providing guidance and support to team members on technical and project-related matters.
  • Technical Expertise: Possessing in-depth knowledge of EDI standards (ANSI X12, EDIFACT, XML), communication protocols (AS2, FTP), and iSeries technologies (RPG, CL, SQL).
  • Integration and Mapping: Designing and implementing solutions for data translation and mapping between different EDI formats and systems.
  • Compliance and Security: Ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations, as well as implementing security measures to protect sensitive data.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Effectively communicating with stakeholders, including business users, vendors, and other IT teams, to resolve issues and facilitate collaboration.
  • Monitoring and Optimization: Monitoring EDI system performance, identifying bottlenecks, and implementing improvements to optimize efficiency and reliability.
 Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Extensive experience in EDI systems, including design, development, implementation, and management.
  • Strong knowledge of iSeries (AS400) and its related technologies (RPG, CL, SQL).
  • Proficiency in EDI standards, formats, and protocols. Expertise in using Trailblazer and Trusted Link.
  • Excellent project management and leadership skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Also would be great if have general knowledge of JDE World using EDI.
