Job Title: Traffic Manager
Duration: 6+ months

Overview
  • Controls, oversees, and maintains marketing efforts and workflow to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and according to guidelines.
  • Interfaces with creative, account executives, production, clients and other stakeholders.
  • As Traffic Manager, you add structure and organization to creative requests so creative team members can focus on being creative.
  • To do this, you receive new project requests, assign a team, create schedules, and move the projects through our agency's phases, ensuring the right actions are performed at the right time, so projects are completed on time, on brief, and on budget.
  • You understand the time, resources, and processes required to complete a wide variety of projects and are adept at developing processes to standardize and streamline workflows.
  • While every project is unique, you know how to effectively adapt and adjust given the unique needs of a specific project.
  • You develop collaborative relationships with your assigned clients so you can understand their marketing overall plan, which helps you to negotiate priority among 300+ projects a month.
  • You host weekly traffic meetings to provide and receive regular updates with your creative team to ensure that key milestones and due dates are met. 
  • Successful Traffic Managers are highly organized and detail-oriented, able to manage multiple projects at a time.
  • In your role, you collaborate effectively with requesters and creatives, which requires you to balance multiple and sometimes conflicting interests.
  • You stay cool, calm, and collected when hiccups occur or a deadline is missed, because you always have a Plan B (C or even D) in your back pocket to bring the project back on course.
  • A Successful Traffic Manager is comfortable with providing direction, asking for and providing updates, and holding team members accountable to meet the due dates of their assignments, which requires strong collaboration and communication skills.

  • Creative agency workflow, culture, roles, and team function.
  • Departmental workflow process disciplines. 
  • Work independently with general supervision.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously in a high-volume department.
  • Think strategically.
  • Communicate effectively.
  • Work with other departments to maintain the highest levels of mutual productivity and diplomacy.
  • Exercise judgement within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action.
 
Requirements:
  • A four-year bachelor’s degree in business administration, Marketing, Communications or related field, or equivalent professional experience is required.
  • Three to five years’ experience in agency traffic management, project management or related discipline.
  • Marketing agency experience preferred.
