Job Summary
- As a Project Manager within the Hardware Engineering organization, you will be responsible for managing the development and implementation process for our Standalone Accessories team.
- In this role, you will drive the day-to-day activities to meet the overall program objectives in support of our Packaging design group, development planning and validation cycles.
Key Qualifications
- Identify and direct all resources required to execute successful projects.
- Create and maintain project timelines.
- Collaborate and facilitate communication across engineering managers, operations managers, marketing managers, and OEM partners to meet schedule and quality goals.
- Lead cross-functional communication between project teams and external vendors.
- Provide timely issue resolution and critical path management.
- Offer multiple levels of status across a wide spectrum of individual contributors to executive management.
- Possess strong presentation skills.
- Understand technical issues and drive them to closure by bringing together key stakeholders for decision making.
- Oversee Material Availability (CTB) activities for all builds, including overseeing teams that drive factory data and accuracy. Assist in management status reports/communications and escalations.
- Manage logistics of parts for builds.
- Work on multiple projects simultaneously.
Responsibilities include:
- Drive product integration and ensure trade compliance and consumer laws are met, enabling the standalone accessory product to ship worldwide.
- Develop standalone accessory product timelines based on AMC and align schedules and deliverables with cross-functional teams and CM partners.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop product and SKU optimization/reduction strategies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and CM partners to meet schedules and ensure overall product deliverables are met.
- Lead and facilitate cross-functional standalone accessory meetings with key stakeholders.
- Create and maintain project scope and Pulse page on a daily basis to provide the most recent program updates.
- Provide and track program updates and action items via Pulse to communicate and align priorities with cross-functional teams.
- Provide timely issue resolution and lead critical path management discussions, including escalations.
- Drive, manage, and review First Article Inspections (FAIs) with cross-functional key stakeholders. Continuously sync with CMs to meet and exceed overall quality expectations.
- Oversee and own product management for all standalone accessories from cradle to grave (NPI to EOL), driving consensus and accountability with key stakeholders.
- Review and approve as a key stakeholder in the Customer Experience Testing (CET) for OK2Ship to enable a successful product launch.
- Manage project disclosures to ensure client’s new product security.
- Perform configuration management and ensure product data integrity (ECOs, AML NRCs, APNs, MPN BOMs).
- Administer FAI tools (setup).
- Manage end-to-end lifecycle for sustaining standalone accessories.
Education/Experience
- BS/BA degree or 5+ years of industry experience.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
- Ability to juggle multiple tasks, dates, deadlines, and deliverables.
- Ability to filter and distill relevant information for the right audience.
- Self-motivated and proactive with demonstrated creative and critical thinking capabilities.
- Ability to work in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment.
- Understands and deals well with rapid development cycles; remains flexible and calm in the face of ambiguity.
- Experience with portable consumer electronics devices and familiarity with mechanical enclosure parts.
- Detailed knowledge of product development processes as well as a strong understanding of manufacturing processes.
- Experience interfacing with Operations, Mechanical Engineering/Design and Marketing.
