Description:
We are seeking a synergetic, talented, and motivated Sr. Electrical Engineer (Power) to provide DFx to Engineering and support our Supply Base in the manufacturing of industrial automation control panels and workcell interconnect diagrams. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience the design of electrical connections inside industrial electrical AC/DC and DC/DC cabinets with voltages in the 100-600VAC and 5-60VDC ranges. This candidate must have the ability to work well both independently, in team settings, as well as with external suppliers and OEM's. The candidate is expected to be able to own the entire manufacturing of our electrical cabinets for our products, including supporting design DFx, prototype oversight, and manufacturing ramp planning.
Can be an industrial engineer with extensive control cabinet experience as well.

About the team:
You will own end-to-end, Release thru End of Life, manufacturing and quality assurance of the control cabinets of our robotic workcells. You will actively engage with external Vendors, OEM's, and Contract Manufacturers thru the product release Lifecycle process to support the build, test, quality, and delivery of the devices. In learning about the products and our customers you will work with suppliers to design engineering test systems for these products. You will leverage your industry experience and deep dive customer and regulatory demands to integrate these new products into our custom automation systems. There will be active participation within an interdisciplinary team working to iterate on the design optimizing across cost, schedule and time to market.
Possible travel for day trips, 1-3 days. Possible 1-2 days once a month
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelors in Electrical Engineering or similar
- Experience in developing manufacturing verification plans and functional test procedures.
- * 5+ years of experience designing the electrical connections inside industrial electrical AC/DC and DC/DC cabinets with voltages in the 100-600VAC and 5-60VDC ranges
- Experience with UL508A/NFPA79/IEC60204-1 and the impact to Electrical Panel Design
- Experience specifying COTs components for use within 100-600VAC systems:
- Breakers, relays and fuses
- Power line filters and choke design and selection
- Power factor correction
- Variable Frequency Dive and Motor Driven Roller specification and integration
- Energy storage and regeneration (UPS, batteries, super capacitors, etc.) design and selection
- Energy dissipation (bleeder resistors) design and selection
- Experience with electrical enclosure design including layout best practices.
- Used Eplan. AutoCAD Electrical, or equivalent CAD tool for electrical hardware designs of machinery
- Extensive knowledge of European and American design standards
- Demonstrated strong ability to move seamlessly between levels of abstraction – from system to the “nuts and bolts” implementation.
- Extensive system design interfacing to a wide array of electro-mechanical subsystems and debugging experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or equivalent
- Experience working with interdisciplinary teams to execute product design from concept to production
- Experience with the project management of technical projects
- EPLAN Certified Engineer (ECE)
- Experience with design in EPLAN, EPLAN Propanel, and Smart Wiring modules
- Extensive knowledge of UL508A/NFPA79/IEC60204-1
- Knowledge of Machinery Directive 2006/42/EG
- Demonstrated ability to develop deep understanding of the business and end user needs quickly, and can proficiently translate those needs into the right technology solution
- Excellent written (white papers) and oral communication skills
- Ability to support domestic and international travel as required by the program
