Job Title: Analyzing Technician I
Duration: 2+ months (Possible Extension Based on Performance)
Location: Elgin, IL, 60124
Work Model: 100% Onsite

Shift: 1st Shift | 6:00 AM – 2:15 PM
 
Description:
Client is seeking a hands-on Analyzing Technician I to perform board-level diagnostics and analysis of failed 2-way radio products (mobile and portable) at our Elgin Manufacturing facility. This role requires strong electronic troubleshooting skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently using advanced diagnostic tools to identify root causes of failure and support factory operations.
 
Specific Accountabilities:
Perform analysis on rejected electronic assemblies using various test equipment (oscilloscopes, signal generators, analyzers, etc.).
Troubleshoot and diagnose complex electronic and mechanical issues at the board/component level.
Identify root causes of failure—distinguishing between vendor defects and internal process-related issues.
Document findings through detailed and accurate failure analysis reports.
Record failure data and clearly explain diagnostics.
Support weekend factory operations as needed.
Communicate results effectively to engineering and operations teams.
Ensure compliance with all company quality standards and testing protocols.
 
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:
Associate’s Degree in Electronics Engineering Technology (Bachelor’s preferred).
1–3 years of experience in electronics diagnostics or troubleshooting.
Proficient in the use and setup of test equipment: signal generators, modulation/audio analyzers, spectrum analyzers, power meters, oscilloscopes, etc.
Solid RF knowledge.
Ability to read and interpret electronic schematics and component layouts.
Excellent electronic and mechanical troubleshooting skills.
Strong documentation and communication abilities.
 
Preferred:
Familiarity with 2-way radio/subscriber products is a strong advantage.
Experience writing technical reports or failure summaries.
Ability to adapt quickly to a high-paced, changing environment.
