Job Title: Equipment Engineer
Location: Princeton, IN
Duration: 12 Months

Overtime: About 12% yearly (5 to 10 hours in a week, especially during shutdown weeks. 
Travel: About 20 % yearly- Ability to travel up to 20% to all NAM locations as well as Japan as needed. The international travel would be only for meeting purposes at vendor locations. 

Who We’re Looking For:
Client’s Final Assembly Production Engineering Department is looking for a passionate and highly motivated Equipment Engineer to support our Vehicle Performance lines within our assembly group.
The primary responsibility of this role is to support new model introduction, focusing on the calibration and software writing of vehicle electrical systems.  This role will require to utilization of computer hardware/software and digital tools to interface with vehicle ECUs.  A general understanding of vehicle electronics communication protocols is preferred. Proficiency in 2D and 3D CAD, such as AutoCAD, Inventor, Catia, and XVL, is required to perform new model investigations.

Reporting to the Assembly Engineering Manager, the person in this role will support the Production Engineering Assembly department's Vehicle Performance manufacturing area.

What You’ll Be Doing:
  • (20%) Project Planning Support for upcoming model changes.
  • (40%) Simultaneous Engineering for assembly of vehicle electrical control systems.
  • (40%) FEA, Investigations, Equipment Bid Specifications, and Installation\Modifications for Vehicle Performance equipment.
  • Close collaboration between both internal and external groups, including NAMCs, PE support shops, & Plano divisions.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or Engineering with an Electrical and Computer Engineering Emphasis.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficient in Autocad, and Catia / XVL / Inventor.
  • Proficient in interpreting technical standards related to vehicle calibration and communications.
  • Proficient in computer hardware/software interfacing, both hardwired wired and wireless, to communicate with vehicle ECUs.
  • Proficient in developing detailed specifications to meet technical standard tolerances for vehicle calibration for functions such as headlamp aim and radar cruise control.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications (Outlook, Excel, Word).
  • Ability to travel up to 20% to all NAMs as well as Japan as needed.
  • This position requires driving.  A motor vehicle record that meets company standards is required for this position.

Added Bonus if you have:
  • Ability to read Japanese.
  • Electrical Systems experience.
  • Systems Engineering and Analysis experience.
  • Microcomputer and/or Embedded Systems experience.
