Job Title: Business Intelligence Engineer III
Location: Seattle, WA, US
Schedule: Monday – Friday (9:00 AM – 5:00 PM PST)
Duration: 6 months
Team Overview:
We are shaping the future of monetization for advertising-supported publishers (e.g., streaming video platforms, live content platforms, etc.). Our mission is to build the most customer-centric advertising services in the industry.
As we continue building out our team, we are looking for a Business Intelligence Engineer to own end-to-end data solutions for publishers. As a key analytics partner in our analytics team, you will influence the direction of the business by leveraging our data to deliver insights that drive strategic decisions and actions. This role involves translating complex publisher monetization challenges into specific analytics projects, conducting deep quantitative analysis, and effectively communicating results that shape our publisher strategies. You will help the organization identify, evaluate, and implement new tools and methodologies to enhance our monetization capabilities and deliver greater value to our advertising customers and publishing partners.
This role requires an individual with excellent business acumen, communication skills, and technical expertise, enabling effective collaboration across various functions including Product Managers, Data Engineers, Finance, Software Engineers, Data Scientists, and senior leadership. The successful candidate will be a self-starter who thrives in ambiguity and embraces challenges, demonstrating competence in handling complex publisher datasets and open business problems. You should have strong ownership and ability to work in our fast-paced, ever-changing, and high-energy environment, where your insights will directly impact the growth and success of our publisher monetization initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:
- Review existing data challenges to deliver a comprehensive solution with appropriate data strategy and tools
- Design, develop, build, and maintain scalable data solutions, including infrastructure, pipeline, reporting, to support long-term business strategies
- Simplify and re-invent current data solutions to support the business scope expansion
- Translate business problems into data questions, find solutions to solve those questions with resourcefulness
- Identify areas of opportunities and present analytical findings and recommendations to business leadership
- Work cross-functionally with other teams in various job families to gather data sources to provide a comprehensive view of the business, inclusive of supply, demand, sales, operations, shopper, etc.
- Recognize and adopt best practices in reporting/analysis: data integrity, test design, analysis, validation, and documentation
- Design, build and maintain metrics and reports on program health
- Respond to ad hoc requests from business leaders to investigate critical aspects of customer behavior, e.g. how many customers use a given feature or fit a given profile, deep dive into unusual patterns, and exploratory data analysis
Job Qualifications:
- 7+ years of experience working with large-scale complex datasets
- 7+ years of analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL etc. experience
- Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools
- Experience with data modeling, warehousing and building ETL pipelines
- Strong analytical mindset, ability to decompose business requirements into an analytical plan, and execute the plan to answer those business questions
- Strong working knowledge of SQL
- Graduate degree in math/statistics, computer science or related field, or marketing is highly desirable
- Excellent communication skills, equally adept at working with engineers as well as business leaders
