Job Description

Title: Project Controls Coordinator II
Location: Edmonton, AB  hybrid (Mon, Tue, Thu in office)
Duration: 12 months of assignment (with a possibility of extension)


High Level Description
· This position owns project and cost controls for maintenance capital work that has Asset Management as the Project Manager.
· This position will provide capital project support for the full Operations capital support (variances, accruals, reporting)
· This position will provide project and cost control support for Prairie Region.
· Assists will all levels of project execution, including but not limited to WO/PO creation, cost tracking, cost reporting, portfolio reporting, accruals, forecasts, variances, records management, project creation, revisions, and closures as necessary

Specific Accountabilities:
· Responsible for tracking, updating and reporting on all capital projects completed within the Asset Management Team.
· Responsible for WO and PO creation, tracking, and closure within the Asset Management Team.
· Assist with execution and project management of Asset Management projects, as required including accruals, revisions, pulling expenditure reports, & completing variance analysis
· Provide portfolio level support across Operations including variances, accruals, reporting, Oracle project setup and Copperleaf investment setup.
· Generate regular and ad hoc analysis including graphs, summary tables, and presentations.
· Portfolio level reporting needs to be established.
· Work with internal team to understand incurred costs and compare against budget and monthly forecast values.
· Provide project and cost control support for Praire Region (monthly forecast submissions, reporting, accruals, scope changes, project setups)
· Track Key Performance Indicators
· Prepare project status with variance analysis and reasoning for Senior and Project Management.

Scope
· Cost controls in project lifecycle in a proactive manner, including facilitating change management
· Provides financial review and analysis as requested by Project Managers
· Provides monthly and year-end accrual support to Regional Project Managers
· Reviews Capital Expenditure reports and advises on Regional Project Managers’ monthly sign offs
· Provides monthly forecasting support to Project Managers.
· Submits Capital AFE requests, revisions, closures as necessary
· Forecast project costs with detailed cost variance analysis.
· Preparation and analysis of project status report
· Assists with Oracle Work Order creation and management.
· Assists with RFQs and RFPs as requested.
· Assist with execution and project management as required
· Prepare investments in Copperleaf for Operations Failure Allowance portfolio.

Required:
· University Degree or Technical Diploma in Engineering or Accounting related fields. Other Post-Secondary education may be considered.
· Minimum of 5 years of Project Controls or Project Management experience is required.
· General understanding of pipeline and terminal operations.
· High proficiency in MS Excel required (v-lookups, pivot tables, graph generation, sumifs, etc.).
· Predict obstacles, challenges and risks to proactively determine mitigation strategies and innovative solutions to problems.
· Excellent oral and written communications skills.
· Software experience with: MS Office Suite, Oracle/SAP.
· Problem solving, decision-making, organization, planning and leadership skills.
· Collaborative, team- and service-oriented work style.
· Motivated self-starter who works well independently in a fast-paced team environment.
· Valid driver’s license.

Preferred:
· Proficient knowledge in PowerBi
· Registration in a professional society related to their post-secondary education.
· Project Management professional designation.
· Experience with Copperleaf
