Job Description
Title: User Experience Designer
Location: Richmond, VA or Cayce, SC - Hybrid schedule (1 week onsite, 1 week Remote)
Duration: 12 months
Description:
This position for the Microsoft Center of Excellence team involves designing seamless and intuitive digital experiences by understanding user needs and business requirements, designing wireframes/prototypes, incorporating feedback from customers and providing guidance to application developers. Responsibilities include understanding customer requirements and technical capabilities and transforming those into a digital experience while maintaining brand standards and accessibility guidelines.
• Strong knowledge of IT principles, system designs, and software development life cycle best practices.
• Ability to work independently in a professional team setting.
• Excellent communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills.
• Create and maintain design artifacts (e.g., wireframes/prototypes, use cases, user stories).
• Prepare materials for design reviews and product sessions.
• Proficiency in prototyping software such as Figma, Sketch, Axure
• Experience and knowledge of user experience best practices
• Strong graphic design and user interface skills
• Experience with graphic design software such as Adobe Creative Cloud,
• Experience/knowledge of MS Cloud development suites (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, SharePoint) preferred.

- Creating wireframes/prototypes for an application based on business requirements using software like Figma, Sketch or Axure
- Experience and knowledge of user experience best practices

- Good understanding of technical capabilities and limitations of a given platform/technology
Nice to have:
- Experience with the Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps)
Soft skill requirements:
- Team player
- Ability to take feedback on user experience designs
Required education and certifications/licensures:
- Bachelor’s degree
