Job Description
Position Title: Lab Tech III
Work Location: Madison, WI 53701
Assignment Duration: 12 Months (possible extension)
Work Arrangement: Onsite
Position Summary:
To support the daily operations of the peptide array synthesis lab by performing essential laboratory duties, including reagent preparation, inventory management, and maintenance of lab equipment—to ensure accurate, efficient, and safe operations that drive innovation and advance scientific programs.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and handle samples, reagents, and laboratory equipment to assist in instrument setup.
Wash laboratory dishes and clean instrumentation as part of routine maintenance.
Maintain laboratory cleanliness following established SOPs.
Participate in inventory management, ordering, and stocking of laboratory supplies and consumables.
Participate in hazardous waste bulking and disposal following established SOPs.
Other duties of a similar nature as assigned by supervisor / manager.
Qualifications & Experience:
• Bachelor of Science degree in a relevant field (e.g., Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry).
• Experience with laboratory techniques and equipment (can be from coursework, internships, or previous employment).
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and communication skills.
• Completing initial and ongoing required training and following established standard operating procedures (SOPs) are essential to safely performing duties.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to routinely lift 50 lbs. as required for laboratory duties.
