Job Description

Job Title: Systems Engineer V (Staff/Principal SDE – Sensor Orchestration & Data Transfer)
Location: San Francisco, CA
Duration: 6 Months (Possible extension)
 
Job Description:
We are seeking a Staff/Principal Software Development Engineer (SDE) with deep expertise in sensor orchestration, data pipelines, and real-time systems.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Develop real-time orchestration software to start, run, and manage data capture from deployed sensors.
  • Rapidly prototype orchestration and data pipelines for new sensor types under evaluation.
  • Build data conversion and modification pipelines to ensure output is clean, structured, and ready for downstream consumption.
 
Basic Qualifications:
  • 8+ years of software engineering experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related technical field.
  • Proficiency in at least one scripting language: Python or Bash.
  • Proficiency in at least one compiled/embedded language: C/C++.
  • Solid hands-on experience with data pipeline development.
  • Expertise in shell scripting and working with UNIX/Linux systems.
 
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with sensor ecosystems such as Optitrack, Rokoko, StretchSense, Manus, Zed cameras, AR/VR headsets.
  • Familiarity with message queuing systems: RabbitMQ, ZeroMQ.
  • Hands-on work with ROS/ROS2 (Robot Operating System).
  • Background in distributed systems development.
  • Experience building or supporting real-time systems.
