Job Title: Systems Engineer III
Location: 100% Remote
Duration: 12+ Months
 

• Good understanding of wired and wireless computer network infrastructure which includes knowledge of switches, routers, ports, access points, LAN/WAN, etc.
• Possess exceptional troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Understand how commodity servers, operating systems and networks function, perform and scale.
• Create or provide feedback on processes that enhance operational workflow and provide positive customer impact.
• Dive deep to resolve problems at their root, looking for failure patterns amenable to long-term solutions via simplification and automation.
• Avoid re-inventing the wheel and prefer appropriately simple, repeatable solutions over more complex and failure prone ones.
• Recognize and adopt best practices in documentation, testing, security, operational support at scale, and efficient use of resources.
• Develop appropriate metrics to demonstrate performance at improving operational efficiency.

 
Years of Experience:
3-5 Years as a Systems Engineer
 
Core Requirements:

• In depth knowledge of & experience deploying and operating Linux or other UNIX variants in a datacenter environment.
• Fundamental knowledge of AWS infrastructure. AWS Essentials certifications preferred.
• Strong system troubleshooting skills.
• Good understanding of automation via Python programming and shell scripting. Used as a tool as a daily basis. (not a developer, just familiarity) at least 1 year of using python/shell scripting for applications
• Good understanding of standard internet protocols (Ethernet, ARP, IP, ICMP, UDP, TCP, SSL, DNS, HTTP, etc.)
• Demonstrable grasp of security best practices in server configuration, tool development, and access controls.
• Basic understanding of SQL queries. Knowing how to use and modify – not a developer

 
Highly Desirable Attributes:

• Educational or professional experience related to robotics technologies.
• Knowledge of C++, Python
• Experience deploying or managing servers in large-scale, geographically diverse environments.
• Understanding & experience of managing and monitoring large projects.
• Operational knowledge of common enterprise switching and routing platforms.

 
Degree or Certification:
Bachelor’s Degree (something close to computer engineering, computer science etc.)
 
Must Have:

• Familiarity with AWS
• Computer Networking Infrastructure
• Troubleshooting experience
