Job Title: Quality Assurance Engineer III/Quality Inspector – Receipt Inspection of Materials and Equipment
Duration: 12 Months
Location: Hamshire, TX (primary through Q3 2025) and Sabine Pass, TX (Q4 2025 onwards)
Work Schedule: Part-time (20–30 hrs/week), 2–3 days per week
Travel: Local travel, mileage reimbursed for travel exceeding Point of Assignment
 
Job Summary:
Client is seeking a skilled Quality Inspector for receipt inspection of materials and equipment. This role ensures all incoming goods meet purchase specifications, quality standards, and compliance documentation. Candidate must be proficient in SAP Quality Management (QM) Module and experienced with inspection tools, documentation review, and non-conformance reporting.
 
Key Responsibilities:
1. Receipt Inspection & Verification

• Inspect mechanical components (e.g., piping, valves, machinery) upon delivery.
• Validate purchase orders, MTRs, CoCs, packing lists, and physical condition.
• Perform Positive Material Identification (PMI) and dimensional inspections.

 
2. Compliance & Standards

• Ensure materials meet ASME, API, ANSI, and other relevant codes.
• Maintain traceability and tagging per project specifications.
• Adhere to client’s quality control procedures.

 
3. Documentation Review & Reporting

• Review MDBs, MTCs, and inspection/test records.
• Ensure all tags and certificates align with project documentation.
• Submit inspection reports and document non-conformances.

 
4. SAP Quality Management

• Log results and issues using SAP QM Module.
• Create quality notifications for non-conforming items.

 
5. Non-Conformance Management

• Report and track NCRs; work with suppliers to resolve issues.
• Monitor corrective actions to ensure timely resolution.

 
6. Communication & Reporting

• Collaborate with QA/QC Manager and stakeholders.
• Prepare detailed reports with photos and documentation.

 
7. Inventory Coordination

• Assist warehouse teams with material storage and documentation.
• Conduct spot checks and verify inventory accuracy.

 
Top 5 Must-Have Qualifications:

• Hands-on experience with SAP Quality Management (QM) Module
• Proficient with measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges)
• Strong knowledge of material specifications, standards, and documentation
• Certifications in Welding, Coating, or NDT (highly desirable)
• Certification in PMI or relevant experience (preferred)

 
 
Qualifications & Requirements:
Education:

• High school diploma required; Associate’s/Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering preferred.
• Certifications in Welding, NDT, Coating, and PMI are desirable.

 
Experience:

• 5+ years in receipt inspection/quality control in LNG, Oil & Gas, or manufacturing.
• Familiarity with mechanical/piping materials and rotating equipment.

 
Skills:

• Detail-oriented with strong analytical and communication skills.
• Proficient in SAP QM and Microsoft Office.

 
Other:

• Must work on-site in Port Arthur, TX.
• Ability to lift heavy materials.
• Adherence to health, safety, and environmental standards.
