Title: Program Manager
Location: Lexington, MA 02421 (Hybrid, 8 days a month onsite)
Duration: 08 Month (Possible Extension)


OBJECTIVES/PURPOSE:
The purpose of the Planet Program Management Generalist is to:
• Coordinate with program and workstream leads to establish governance, develop tactical implementation plans, and ensure successful achievement of the established sustainability goals and program objectives.
• Support the design and execution of change management efforts to ensure that program impacts are fully integrated into the culture and decision-making processes of company.
• Lead organization and facilitation of meetings, workshops and training sessions with the relevant program teams and stakeholders.
• As needed, provide tactical leadership to individual worksteams within the assigned program areas.

ACCOUNTABILITIES:
• In partnership with the relevant program lead(s), define program strategic operating structure and establish charters for defined annual strategic initiatives
• Establish and conduct execution oversight of the annual initiatives, ensuring effective escalation of key updates, issues, and risks, while managing change through the Planet change management process
• Support the implementation of internal operational changes to achieve stated program objectives, for example, establishing new KPIs, managing change plans, and delivering training.
• Coordinate activities, prioritization, and interdependencies across workstreams to ensure successful resolution of conflicts, utilization of resources, and on-time delivery of milestones
• Assist in data analysis and trending to assess current performance and create mitigation plans as necessary
• Assist in the development of reports and other communication mechanisms at the direction of the program lead(s)

Technical/Functional (Line) Expertise (Breadth and depth of knowledge, application, and complexity of technical knowledge)
• Expert at rapid, global-scale change management and stakeholder management
• Subject matter expert on project and program management
• Expertise on enterprise sustainability management preferred but not required
• Expertise in sustainability data systems and business intelligence tools preferred but not required

Leadership (Vision, strategy and business alignment, people management, communication, influencing others, managing change)
• Able to lead colleagues through influence at, below, and above peer level in both sites and functions
• Able to establish and get buy-in for the business case for assigned initiatives at all levels of the enterprise
• Able to rapidly adapt to changes and reprioritization in other parts of the enterprise

Decision-making and Autonomy (The capacity and authority to make organizational decisions, autonomy in decision-making, complexity of decisions, impact of decisions, problem-solving)
• Partners with program lead to drive consensus on the global processes, systems, and tools
• Contributes to selection of vendors and partners to augment in-house expertise and compensate for resource limitations

Interaction (The span and nature of one’s engagement with others when performing one’s job, internal and external relationships)
• Engages internally with senior level, mid level, and functional leaders across functions, including SBE, EHS, Global and Site Engineering, IT, Finance, Procurement, OpUs, and Sites to establish standard processes, systems, and tools

Innovation (The required level of scientific knowledge, knowledge sharing, innovation and risk taking)
• Uses information technology and business processes to solve complex, poorly defined problems.

Complexity (Products managed, mix of businesses, internal and/or external business environment, cultural considerations)
• Must be able to implement a program strategy that accounts for existing business processes and operational objectives.
• Must understand the cultural, regional, and regulatory variation across the global footprint of manufacturing sites to oversee change management activities

EDUCATION, BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS:
Education / experience
• Minimum of a four year Bachelors Degree, preferably in life sciences, business or engineering (or equivalent experience). Master’s Degree in a technical discipline and/or MBA is a plus.
• Minimum 8+ years Project Management experience including 3+ years of Program Management experience. Biotechnology / pharmaceutical industry experience desirable.

• Must thrive in a highly collaborative environment and delight in developing clarity from ambiguous environments. Strong leadership and organizational skills. Very strong ability to influence others and work cross-functionally.
• Outstanding communication skills including the ability to interact with all levels of management including the most senior leaders. Must be able to tailor communications to deliver the same content to different audiences.
• Must be able to directly link, and articulate to others, sustainability management to business outcomes. Functions well under pressure in a changing environment. Uses independent judgment to identify, plan, prioritize, and organize diversified workload as required.
• Must be proficient in the application of MS Office tools including Project, PowerPoint, Teams, and Excel.
