Job Description:
- Developing process plans for production lines within the powertrain department with direct support from the Manager.
- Directly supporting other engineers or technicians through mentorship.
- Leading the cost planning, budget creation, machine specification, procurement, validation, installation, pre-productions trials and launch of production lines.
- Creating and maintaining detail schedule and budget for assigned area.
- Participate in cross functional working groups across the local facility and corporate departments to achieve project goals.
- Participate in a mentor program to grow as an engineer and learn from others within the department.
- Construction / Equipment installations.
Added bonus if you have
- Client Production Engineering experience in; Assembly, Machining, Paint, Welding, Stamping
- PLC experience, including the ability to investigate and troubleshoot
- Experience and/or exposure to powertrain manufacturing processes
- Experience and/or exposure to Client Business Practices problem solving
- Equipment installation and validation
Requirements:
- Overtime Percentage: 20 % (Depending upon project schedule)
- Travel Percentage: 10 % - 30% for Domestic Travel. 1% Changes for Travel to Japan.
- Steel Toes shoes will be required for this role. 80% of time on shop floor.
- Shut down period - December
- The primary responsibility of this position is to prepare, coordinate manufacturing equipment to support new model launches as well as unit plant competitiveness.
- Equipment installation, good troubleshooting skills.
- Experience creating and implementing assembly processes in a manufacturing environment.
- Automative background is a great Plus for this role
What you bring
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Engineering or similar technical field or 5+ years of automotive engineering experience
- Experience in production preparation of manufacturing and experience in execution of capital projects, preferably from initial planning to start of production. (1 year Required)
- Experience creating and implementing assembly processes in a manufacturing environment (1 year Required)
- Experience with detail schedule creation and utilization for capital projects greater than $500K (1 year Required)
- AutoCad experience, including the ability to read, interpret and modify 2D drawings
- Ability to support weekends, off shift, and holidays as needed
- Ability to work plant scheduled shutdown times each year (December)
- Ability for business travel, both domestic and international. Only a very small chance of going to Japan.. probably closer to 1% but KY and TX probability is high (10%).
- Ability for business travel to other North American sites to support future projects
