Job Description

Job Title: Software Engineer I
Duration: 12 Months (possible extension)
Location: Remote
Day to Day:
  • Team: Video Analytics team   
Reason for Opening:
  • Need an engineer to join their team to ensure their platforms (Client Video's) metrics are compliance to regulations.
Why is this role important to your team/the project/the company:
  • As policies change, so do compliance regulations.  Every few years, new policies roll out, now they have to have existing product be Compliant. GDPR compliance policy.
The ideal candidate has 3-5 years of experience and is familiar with the following tech stacks and traits:
  • PHP, MySQL (required)
  • C++, Java/Spark, Python (nice to have)
  • Familiarity with Privacy, Security is nice to have but not required.
  • Able to execute tasks and take responsibilities independently
Must Have
  • PHP / Hack
  • My SQL
  • Good problem-solving skills (must have) - more important than domain specific knowledge  
Pluses
  • Redis 
  • C++
  • Understanding of databases  
  • Some JavaScript   
  • Back end exp  
Year of Experience: Mid-level 3-5 YOE  
Day to day responsibilities:
  • Write unit tests and integration tests for 100+ critical metrics to verify correct metrics computation, metrics query API functionality and verify all the desired metrics output.
  • Write regression tests for 100+ critical metrics, to detect and prevent regression in the metrics due to new code changes.
  • Manually collect and document non-technical standards evidence from past metrics compliance workstream.
  • Set up alerts for critical metrics to catch regressions.
  • Collaborate with Team members (Software Engineers, Legal, Content designers)
What they do:
  • Reasonable / agitating video related activities
  • Any time customer of client/ watches a video, they process our activities and externally viable metrics which are displayed across products. Need engineers to work on that, they will be working on an internal power the accuracy of the metrics. 
  • This candidate will be working on client videos and have to ensure their platform is complaint to regulations. As policies change, so do compliance regulations. Every few years, new policies roll out, now they have to have existing product be Compliant (GDPR compliance policy)
Industry: Prev Meta is plus – preferred not required   
About the Team:
  • The Team owns a large portfolio of externally visible video metrics (500+ metrics including 100+ critical metrics). Maintaining & providing compliance for metrics at large scale (trillions of events per day processing) requires adding unit testing, end-to-end testing, regression testing, adding alerting, ensuring privacy compliance etc. This work is critical for client to meet compliance requirements.
Interview Process:
