Role: Project/Program Manager V
Location: Virtual Location - Florida (Remote)
Duration: 18 months
 
Description:
The purpose of this role is to oversee and perform quality assurance and quality control reviews, track, and manage design drawings, specifications and documents prepared during the engineering design process in order to ensure regulatory, legal, and security compliance. You will work alongside internal partner teams such as Engineering, Power and Cooling (PAC), Security, Controls, and Commissioning to build Data Centers that directly support our customers to resolve quality and process issues. You will also communicate with external stakeholder design consultants.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Independently manage one or multiple project clusters’ documentation and administers the workflows where you engage with the correct stakeholders across the organization to raise the bar in the quality and the coherence of the content of the package provided. Perform quality review of technical documentation for accuracy and contract compliance.
  • Serves as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for other Quality Engineers process clarifications needs and decision making as required.
  • Provide coordination and guidance of all engineering and architectural specifications, design drawings, and permit submittals for projects.
  • Support the design managers to prepare complete and accurate documentation at various design phases and during construction handoff, including but not limited to drawings, specifications, bill of materials, calculations, etc.
  • Manages project archiving, tracking, processing and filing activities, assist in naming standard, versioning schema, etc.
  • Provides training initiatives for our internal and external partners, and provide tactical support.
  • Prepare ad hoc reports on project’s progress, Key Performance Indicators (KPI) and progress tracking.
  • Manages and executes the vision and goals for the team. Independently works on process improvement initiative and new mechanism development efforts and sees these to completion including among others: requirements gatherings, paper writing and presentation, approval, UAT, implementation, training and user support.
  • Collaborate with technical teams in a fast-paced environment with showed ability to edit and raise the bar on high-quality technical documentation
  • Configuration Analyst/System Owner for DE design documents
  • Responsible for leading and driving process improvements (short-term wins) as well as process design / redesign (long-term wins) efforts
  • Manage a portfolio of projects in an assigned region
  • Maintain and add user accounts, security groups, and permission access levels
  • Maintain confidentiality around sensitive documentation
  • Attend team meetings and communicate updates or requirements
  • Conduct audits to ensure processes are being followed
 
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, or architecture, or 4+ years’ experience as a project engineer for large commercial design and construction projects, 4+years of experience in the design or construction industry
  • Experience with design and/or construction management software including Autodesk BIM360, Bluebeam, and Procore
  • Experience working with collaborative management systems
  • Attention-to-detail including proven ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously
  • Knowledge of the scope and design/construction life cycle sequencing of project schedules
  • Experience with managing documents in various types of office software
  • Experience in Salesforce, BIM, Procore, SharePoint is a plus.
 
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in design and construction and/or project management
  • Engineering Data Center Experience
  • Organizational, analytical, and writing skills, to include solid experience in writing functional and technical specifications
  • Able to read and interpret specifications and drawings for all disciplines
  • Meets/exceeds Amazon’s leadership principles requirements for this role
  • Meets/exceeds Amazon’s functional/technical depth and complexity for this role
 
Required Skills:
  • Experience in design and construction and/or project management
  • Engineering Data Center Experience
  • Organizational, analytical, and writing skills, to include solid experience in writing functional and technical specifications
  • Able to read and interpret specifications and drawings for all disciplines
  • Years of Experience: 4+
 
Degree or Certification:
  • Bachelors’ degree in engineering
