Job Description: Systems Engineer-V
Location: North Reading MA OnsiteDuration:6 Months
Join a groundbreaking technology client pushing the limits of robotics and automation.
Our test lab is used for validating multiple advanced robot designs currently in development. As a Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining, validating, and troubleshooting these systems while collaborating closely with world-class development teams. Strong technical skills, ownership mentality, and effective collaboration are key to success in this role.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:

Own and maintain a large lab with test fixtures and robots. Manage robot configurations, code releases, and post-release smoke testing.

Automate the deployment and validation of firmware and software code changes.

Create innovative physical test automation mechanisms and fixtures.

Conduct basic troubleshooting and triage of system issues, including connectivity tests, wiring checks, and configuration/release validation.

Collaborate closely with firmware, hardware, and electrical engineers to drive issue resolution.

Develop mechanisms and best practices for reliable and efficient operation of lab systems.
Basic Qualifications:

2–5 years of experience in a Controls Engineer or Systems Engineer role.

Substantial experience commissioning and maintaining systems combining hardware, firmware, and software.

Strong scripting skills with Linux command-line tools and Python.

Good Linux skills, especially troubleshooting device connectivity and networking issues.

Experience using logs to troubleshoot technical issues.
Preferred Qualifications:

Familiarity with control system components, including mechanical, electrical, and electronic parts for root-cause analysis.

Hands-on experience setting up test fixtures and executing tests.

Experience in robotics systems and robotic field deployments.
