Job Description

Location: Toa BAja, PR
Pay Rate: $19.00 p/h
Schedule: Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Sunday from 3:30 p.m. to 12:00 a.m. (days off: Tuesday and Saturday, subject to change). Availability for overtime and holidays as per business needs.

Summary:

The Occupational Health Nurse will be responsible for promoting and maintaining the health and well-being of employees by identifying, assessing, and managing workplace risks. They will act as the primary health resource within the plant, providing primary care, health education, and managing prevention and wellness programs.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide immediate care for workplace-related injuries or illnesses. Administer first aid and coordinate medical referrals as needed.

  • Conduct pre-employment, periodic, and exit health exams, including work fitness assessments and follow-up on chronic conditions

  • Oversee and coordinate cases of injured or ill workers, managing workers' compensation benefits, medical leave, and return-to-work programs.

  • Develop and implement educational programs on disease prevention, stress management, nutrition, exercise, and other workplace health topics.

  • Ensure compliance with local and federal health and safety regulations, including documenting and reporting workplace health incidents.

  • Maintain accurate and confidential records of employee health, including medical history, treatments, and follow-ups.

  • Work closely with human resources, industrial safety, and other departments to implement policies and procedures that promote a healthy and safe work environment.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from an accredited university.
  • Licensed Registered Nurse (RN) issued by the Puerto Rico Board of Nurse Examiners.

  • Active member of the College of Nursing Professionals of Puerto Rico (CPEPR).

  • Current Puerto Rico Nurse Registration Certificate.

  • Current CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) certification.

  • Two years of experience in nursing, preferably in an occupational or industrial setting.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Outlook).

  • Excellent communication skills and interpersonal relationships.

  • Ability to work independently and make informed clinical decisions.
