Job Description

Job Title: Technical Writer
Location: 100% Remote (Prefer PST work hours)
Duration: 6+ Months

 
Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Technical Writer to create comprehensive and user-friendly software user guides. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of software applications, excellent writing skills, and the ability to translate complex technical information into clear and concise documentation.
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop, write, and maintain user guides, manuals, and other documentation for software applications.
  • Collaborate with software developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to gather information and understand the software's functionality.
  • Create diagrams, screenshots, and other visual aids to enhance the documentation.
  • Ensure all documentation is accurate, up-to-date, and meets the company's quality standards.
  • Review and edit content created by other team members for clarity, consistency, and accuracy.
  • Conduct usability testing and gather feedback to improve documentation.
  • Stay current with industry trends and best practices in technical writing and software documentation.
 
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Technical Writing, English, Communications, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Technical Writer, preferably in the software industry.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency with documentation tools such as Microsoft Word, Adobe Acrobat, and content management systems.
  • Ability to understand and explain complex technical concepts.
  • Familiarity with software development processes and methodologies.
  • Experience with graphic design tools (e.g., Adobe Illustrator, Snagit) is a plus.

Preferred Skills:
  • Knowledge of HTML, CSS, and other web technologies.
  • Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git).
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to tasks.
