Job Description

Job Title: Instructional Designer (Training Curriculum Dev)
Location: 100% Remote
Duration: 3+ Months with possibility of extension.


Notes:
  • Open to local and non-local candidates.
  • Client laptop will be issued for this particular role even if selected candidate is non-local.
  • Will be required to use personal cell phone or calls via MS teams.

Job Description:
  • Partner with client’s team to conceptualize training design and content.
  • Define learning objectives, course structure, learning content and assessments.
  • Complete detail analysis of existing content and each task to be trained/supported for target audience, business process, and systems.
  • Follow company standards, guidelines, and templates to develop learning materials including student and facilitator presentations and guides, activities, scenarios, and assessments.
  • Create instructional graphics, scenarios, or interactions.
  • Write clear and effective instruction and facilitator text appropriate for the target audience.
  • Conduct in-person and virtual meetings with subject matter experts including task analysis, alpha, beta, and answer validation meetings.
  • Engage with subject matter experts for ongoing content review and validation.
  • Receive and incorporate feedback.
  • Self-manage assigned tasks and deadlines to complete deliverables.
  • Proactively communicate issues and risks.
Required Skills:
  • 3+ years’ experience developing instructor-led, eLearning, or virtual training in a technical environment.
  • Experience developing training for utility industry.
  • Strong knowledge of adult learning theory and instructional design methodologies.
  • Ability to work on at least 2 WBTs simultaneously.
  • Highly organized and detail oriented.
  • Clear, concise, and welcoming communication style.
  • Experience working with a minimum of 3 subject matter experts for a single project.
  • Prior experience writing assessment questions and creating exams.
  • Prior experience using Articulate Storyline to create WBTs (ideally has developed at least 3 WBTs).
  • Demonstrates critical thinking and creative problem-solving skills to address client requests.
  • Eagerly participates in team building and feedback exercises.
  • Prioritizes team and client collaboration.
  • Strong knowledge of PowerPoint and Word.
 
Highly Desired:
  • Knowledge of QuestionMark and Author-it.
  • Comfortable and capable working on a High Performing Team.
  • Safety knowledge strongly desired.
