Summary:
Manufacturing systems engineering under Kuiper prod-ops is responsible for delivering test software, test hardware and test frameworks that improve speed and quality of testing of satellite components. We partner with engineering and production teams to bring reliability and repeatability to our test systems, improve throughput and accelerate the transition. We are seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to develop and manage comprehensive requirements frameworks for our test optimization initiatives. This role will focus on establishing robust requirements management processes, ensuring traceability, and coordinating cross-functional alignment for test system requirements across all production test stages and environmental test conditions, of all Kuiper Satellite LRUs (Line Replacement Units). The Systems Engineer will need to balance the optimization of environmental test procedures with maintaining robust test coverage and reliability requirements. This role will be crucial in reducing overall test time while ensuring product quality and reliability through appropriate environmental testing. The Systems Engineer will work closely with the Test Optimization Engineer to ensure that all test optimization initiatives are properly requirements-driven and maintain full traceability throughout the implementation process.

Export Control Requirement:
Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Key Responsibilities:
• Lead the development and maintenance of system-level requirements for test processes and procedures, eliminating redundant testing through proper requirements analysis
• Coordinate with Responsible Engineers optimizing test coverage through systematic requirements management
• Support the standardization of test procedures through clear requirements documentation
• Create and maintain requirements traceability matrices linking business needs to test specifications
• Develop and implement requirements management processes and tools
• Coordinate with Test Engineering to ensure alignment between requirements and test implementation
• Perform gap analysis between current test coverage and required specifications
• Lead requirements validation and verification activities
• Facilitate requirements elicitation sessions with stakeholders
• Develop and manage requirements change control process
• Create and maintain requirements documentation using standard systems engineering tools
• Work with Load and Dynamics engineering to define requirements for environmental stress screening (ESS) processes
• Effectively communication between engineering and Test Labs teams regarding test requirements

Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field
• 5+ years of experience in systems engineering with focus on requirements management
• Strong background in requirements engineering methodologies
• Experience with requirements management tools (e.g., DOORS, Jama)
• Knowledge of systems engineering processes and lifecycle management
• Experience in manufacturing or test engineering environments

Preferred Qualifications:
• Master's degree in Systems Engineering or related field
• INCOSE Systems Engineering Professional (CSEP) certification
• Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE)
• Background in electronics manufacturing and testing
• Experience with thermal cycling, humidity, altitude, and vibration testing
• Understanding of environmental stress screening (ESS) methodologies
