Job Description

Job Title: Associate Manager Customs Data Analytics
Location: Seattle, WA (Hybrid)
Duration: 06 Months
 
This role is focused on embedding analytics into customs processes and creating a data-driven strength which drives visibility and process improvements.
 
Daily Responsibilities:
  • Data Preparation: Under guidance of more senior partners, execute extraction and cleansing, and analysis of data from various databases, including Incorta, SQL server, Oracle EBS, Oracle GTM, and third party sources; perform exploratory data analysis, cleanse, massage, and aggregate data. 
  • Data Visualization: Work under consultative or self-initiated direction to assess and produce relevant, standard, or custom information (reports, charts, graphs and tables) from data sources by querying data repositories and generating the associated information. Familiar with common communication and data presentation and storytelling skills. 
  • Data manipulation and modeling: Ability to procure and manipulate large-scale, complex data from a variety of systems, experience reshaping data to ensure it is in right structure for analysis, filtering, normalizing, and evaluating outliers. Demonstrated experience with data and analytics solutions. 
  • Data methodologies and analysis: Applicable business experience and the ability to handle and maintain the confidentiality of highly sensitive information required for analysis and modeling, dashboard building, with proficiency in Excel, SQL, SAS, Tableau / PowerBI, and other design platforms. Uses data methodologies and skills in accordance with business applicability and insights operationalization. 
  • Business Understanding: Has working knowledge and understanding of business, and business acumen in general. Requires mentoring and guidance, but over time can make more of the connection between data and business applicability. 
  • Participates in discussions with business partners to consult and clarify define business questions. Provides analytic support (business requirements, documentation, data analysis, user acceptance testing, etc.) to IT to drive outcomes of technical implementations. Has outstanding collaboration skills with colleagues at all levels of the organization 
  • Insights Operationalization: Effectively presents complex technical material to non-technical audiences in an approachable way. Provide analytic support (code documentation, data transformations, process maps, etc.) to implement rules and model insights and recommendations into business processes.

  • Advanced skills in Excel, Miro, Power BI, Powerpoint, Visio, Oracle EBS, and other relevant applications to this role
  • Exposure and business-applicable experience in data query and transformation tools including SQL, Alteryx, and Tableau
  • Experience with business requirements gathering user acceptance testing, process documentation, and business process improvement
 
Nice-to-Haves:
  • Knowledge of accounting of finance principals such as accounts payable, GL accounts, etc.
