Job Description

Job Title: Technical Data Center and Networking Program Manager V
Duration: 12 Months (extension is possible)
Location: Remote (West Coast and Central)
Summary:
  • Client is seeking a Technical Data Center and Networking Program Manager, with web and enterprise critical infrastructure experience to become part of our North America team. Our data centers are the foundation upon which our rapidly growing infrastructure operates, and our innovative services are delivered as we continue our mission to build community and bring the world closer together. The program will support end-to-end Infrastructure Data Center organization whose responsibilities include but not limited to the Networking, Data Center Design, Construction, and 24x7 Operation. Ultimately, he/she is the gate keeper of important program information and align expectations across diverse Infrastructure Data Center teams. Finally, this person will be a motived self-starter taking charge of initiatives and be a forward thinker with a keen business sense. This is a full-time position based in our Fremont office and will report to the Manager of the Data Center New Build PM team.
Must-Have Skills:
  • 5+ years of Data Center or Network deployment experience in a technical field with willingness to learn and develop in a fast-paced environment.
  • 3+ years of experience with Project Management strategies, planning and tools
  • Great Communication, clear concise communication with stakeholders or different individuals across external organizations, Analytical critical thinking skills
Nice-to-have Skills:
  • Large Scale Data centre experience, network design construction
  • Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or Juniper JNCIA.
  • Project/product management experience in building scalable, enterprise tooling initiatives, defining roadmaps and translating strategic initiatives into tactical, objective programs.
Years of Experience:
  • 10+ year
Degrees/Certifications Required:
  • BA degree in relevant field
Responsibilities:
  • Manage cross-functional site infrastructure projects in a matrix organization covering a range of areas (data center design-construction, infrastructure cabling, different network builds, hardware systems, capacity management, etc.), including but not limited to coordination of all activities related to the NBPM program.
  • Develop and manage end-to-end project plans and ensure on-time delivery of new-build projects projects in leases and client’s own DCs.
  • Provide hands-on program management during analysis, design, development, testing, implementation, and post implementation phases.
  • Perform risk and/or issues management, change management, and align all XFNs’ decisions on projects.
  • Provide day-to-day coordination and quality assurance for projects and tasks.
  • Manage dependencies and handoffs effectively and optimize schedules accordingly.
  • Drive internal process improvements across multiple teams and functions.
  • Interface with Engineering, Facilities, Electrical/Mechanical Engineers, and business owners for project requirements and scope.
  • Conduct business process re-engineering reviews to innovate on business processes and define ways to improve their efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Drive continual improvement of cost productivity.
  • Identify areas of risk and drive solutions with subject matter experts within the organization.
  • Lead training and education programs for internal and external partners.
  • Travel to datacenter sites as required.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in MIS, IT, systems engineering, electrical engineering, business or related to design and construction.
  • 5+ years of Data Center or Network deployment experience
  • Large scale critical infrastructure and/or data center experience.
  • Interpersonal experience, including relationship building and collaboration within cross-functional team.
  • 3+ years of experience with Project Management strategies, planning and tools.
  • Track record of delivering deployments on or ahead of schedule and on budget.
  • Analytical, problem-solving, negotiation and organizational experience.
  • Organizational and coordination experience along with multi-tasking experience to get things done.
  • Experienced executing multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Experienced collaborating with different individuals across external organizations, within other geographies, and "roll-up the sleeves" in order to accomplish all necessary tasks.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with managing projects related to data center design, hardware design and capacity management.
  • Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or Juniper JNCIA.
  • Knowledge of design, construction, network, hardware, capacity management.
  • Project/product management experience in building scalable, enterprise tooling initiatives, defining roadmaps and translating strategic initiatives into tactical, objective programs. Owner’s rep is a plus.
  • Communication skills and demonstrated attention to detail.
  • Independent and thorough in examination and analysis, alongside results oriented.
  • Interpersonal skills, including relationship building and collaboration within a diverse, cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to adapt and learn new skill sets.
Key Projects/Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
  • Hosting meetings with cross functional partners across different regions in order to hit objectives of our provision ready date with onsite folks and the business to maintain schedule. 1 off meetings to align stakeholders and teams what our requirements and teams on what our goals are to finish a and complete our projects on time
  • Data management for our team and metrics
  • High level running project coordinate meetings, data analysis, reporting, driving effort to deliver the project on schedule and on ontime
Purpose/Size of this team & where does this position fit within the team:
  • Managing a portfolio to manage the project. The portfolio is divided west, central and east. This person will deal with overflow of these projects as the FTE’s are on full capacity.
