Job Title: Scientist II
Location: Ridgefield, CT 06877
Duration: 12 Months
 
Duties:
  • Design, plan, and execute in vitro experiments in an independent manner to achieve defined objectives.
  • Independently initiate and carry out the studies as a team player under manager’s direction.
  • Draw conclusions from experiments and apply knowledge to interrogate target biology.
  • Operate in a highly organized fashion in terms of goal setting and delivery for multiple simultaneous experiments/tasks.
  • Independent execution of routine experiments and independent application of basic scientific principles.
  • Collaborate within the lab/group and work together with the team for larger experiments requiring assistance.
  • Communicate experimental results and present data at cross-functional meetings. May give oral presentations at external meetings.
  • Efficient, organized, and meticulous record keeping and tracking of experiments in accordance with SOPs, policies, and electronic workbook rules.
 
Skills:   
  • Two+ years of experience in related scientific discipline is desired.
  • Experience with cell culture techniques and molecular biology techniques including but not limited to Western blot, qRT-PCR, ELISA, FACS, enzyme inhibition assays, viability assays, functional screening assays of biologics, 2D & 3D culture systems of primary mouse and/or human cells
  • Strong understanding of basic biology and immunology, preferentially with emphasis on tumor and tumor-immune biology.
  • Ability and willingness to work effectively in a highly collaborative research environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to propose, articulate and evaluate scientific ideas and data.
  • The ability to prioritize responsibilities and be comfortable with ambiguity, changing direction and priorities.
  • Complies with all applicable regulations and ensures that work performed in the area(s) of responsibility is conducted in a safe and compliant manner.
 
Education:        
  • Bachelor’s degree with three+ years of experience in related scientific discipline, preferably in the Biopharmaceutical/Biotech industry, or Master’s degree. PhD applicants will not be considered.
