Duration: 6+ Months (High possibility of Extension)
Location: Toronto, ON M5G 3C2 Hybrid - 2 days a week in office
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Business-Oriented Project Manager to join our Emerging Business division within Payments. This role requires a seasoned professional with deep banking and payments expertise, exceptional communication abilities, and outstanding interpersonal skills. The ideal candidate will excel in managing cross-functional projects, collaborating with stakeholders, and driving strategic initiatives with a people-first approach.

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage end-to-end projects within the Emerging Business and Payments sector, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
- Drive initiatives related to banking and payment solutions, ensuring compliance, efficiency, and innovation.
- Act as a liaison between internal teams, financial institutions, vendors, and executive stakeholders to foster collaboration and successful project execution.
- Develop and maintain project plans, timelines, and deliverables while mitigating risks and resolving issues proactively.
- Communicate complex business and technical concepts effectively across all levels of the organization.
- Ensure seamless integration of emerging payment technologies and banking products into existing systems and processes.
- Provide strategic insights to enhance business operations and improve customer experiences within the payments ecosystem.
- Facilitate workshops, stakeholder meetings, and executive briefings with a polished and professional presence.
Required Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Project Manager in banking, payments, or financial services (7+ years minimum).
- Strong knowledge of payment systems, emerging payment technologies, and banking regulations.
- Exceptional communication skills (10/10) – articulate, professional, and capable of engaging with diverse audiences.
- Outstanding interpersonal skills – highly personable, approachable, and diplomatic.
- Demonstrated ability to lead projects in fast-paced, high-stakes environments.
- Experience with stakeholder management, change management, and business strategy within financial services.
- Strong problem-solving skills with a business-first mindset.
- Proficiency in project management tools (JIRA, MS Project, Confluence, etc.).
- Valid PMP designation from the Project Management Institute (PMI) is an asset.
