Job Description

Job Title: Project Manager
Location: Remote - Preference to candidates on the west coast must be local to ATO.
Duration: 6 Months


Candidates local to ATO to occasionally come onsite would be preferred.

Ideal Candidate: B.S. 3-5 years of experience or M.S and minimum 2+ years of experience. Previous pharma experience or large organization consulting experience is a strong preference.

  • Project Management
  • Operational Excellence
  • Management Consulting
  • Nice to have: Project management tools, Smartsheet, Tableau, PowerBI, experience previously leading workshops. Previous pharma experience is strongly preferred. Strong consulting experience at a large organization would be nice.
Project Management:
  • Support key workstreams or projects, driving completion of specific workstreams or deliverables
  • Provide solutions to complex issues, leveraging analytical approaches, established approaches, and critical thinking skills
  • Drive high quality outputs and work products to meet key project milestones, budget, and quality expectations
Operational Excellence:
  • Boost operational excellence and continuous improvement culture across Global Engineering that drives behaviors to challenge the status quo in order to deliver sustainable results
  • Leverage data and a consistent process to assess clients’ needs, develop options, make recommendations and flex to implement when appropriate. Select improvement opportunities that reduce costs, increase productivity, improve quality, and cycle time by reducing waste resulting in significant business improvement and customer satisfaction.
  • Manage or support an array of OE and productivity improvement projects/programs across Global Engineering by using Lean, Six Sigma and Problem-Solving tools and analyses and drive the consistent use of these tools by others
  • Help to prepare materials, structure, and co-facilitate workshops on OE/CI and productivity improvement, Kaizen event, etc.
  • Support Excellence in Operations (EIO), Operations Innovation Awards (OIA) and Productivity Programs across Global Engineering.
Functional and Departmental Strategy:
  • Support / help with the development, implementation and periodic revision of the Global Engineering strategy, transformation, innovation, operational excellence and continuous improvement efforts across all aspects of Engineering; including technologies, processes, and people.
  • Help to prepare materials, structure, and co-facilitate workshops on strategy development and periodic refresh
  • Support Engineering assessments, technical feasibility, lifecycle impact, and cost analysis of potential Engineering projects, e.g. Digital, Sustainability, Capital Expansion, etc.
Qualifications and Experience:
  • At least 2-3 years working directly in a management consulting
  • OE Yellow belt certified
  • Experience with Smartsheets, PowerBI, or similar project management tools
  • Extensive knowledge of Excel and Powerpoint
  • Demonstrate strong track record of project completion within consulting or industry
  • Experience working both independently and within cross-functional teams
  • Advanced problem solving skills and critical thinking ability, including the ability to structure and plan workstreams to address needs of various departments/functions/projects
  • Strong command of technical applications/tools to support analysis and the development of automated processes or solutions
  • Experience in synthesizing research and analysis into structures and logical recommendations
Basic Qualifications:
  • Doctorate degree or Master’s degree and 2 years of experience or Bachelor’s degree and 4 years of experience or Associate’s degree and 8 years of experience or High school diploma / GED and 10 years of experience

  • 10+ years of working experience may be overqualified.
