Job Description
- The CL+D Program Manager with Instructional Design is a centralized role that supports the Global Commercial Training and Development teams through design work and innovative projects.
- The Instructional Designer will need to be adept at managing several programs related to selling skills and Therapeutic Area needs, creative content builder, programing into Articulate Rise and Storyline, be comfortable working in a fast pace environment with multiple stakeholders, and be able to provide instructional design expertise to a diverse set of projects.
- The role will sit within GCL+D Learning Operations, however, they will interact with all teams in our department.
- Project management - project ownership and ability to manage multiple projects at any given time will be required
- Provide learning project management services including instructional design development, revision of new and existing instructor-led and self-paced (online) learning experiences.
- Support in the build of communication strategies through emails, PowerPoint or excel.
- Support in the pull through of KPI’s, Data generation strategies and other functions typically associated with complex launch strategies and working with high performing Marketing Teams
- Working on fast moving programs supporting a group of Training Directors that manage product launches, competitive selling skills programs and brand content roll out to the field end user
- Create and maintain e-Learning and microlearning content with a variety of authoring tools (e.g., Articulate 360/Storyline, Camtasia).
- Develop additional content as required -e.g., course outlines, training aids, assessments, and facilitator guides.
- Engage the project team, subject matter experts, and stakeholders to define and develop learning program goals and objectives, needs analysis, content development, delivery, evaluation, and revision.
- Applies modern instructional strategies to drive behavioral outcomes and high engagement. Leads and participates in all phases of the ADDIE process --Analysis; Design; Development; Implementation; Evaluation. Applies the 6Ds Learning Transfer principles to determine organizational training needs.
- Must be able to apply and implement adult learning principles.
- Designs the most effective instructional method, media, presentation style, and develops solutions that drive learning transfer. Designs and develops learning plans and training materials for a variety of competency levels.
- Manages workload responsibly and meets project goals and deadlines. Provides project management and leadership for course development and maintenance projects, ensuring timeline and quality requirements are met; communicates project timelines, statuses, and action items to stakeholders.
- Lead the standardization and centralization of best-practice principles of curriculum design
- Support Learning Strategy Lead in drafting future state proposal content – strong visual design and ppt experience preferred
- Look ahead at next year business needs to support mapping and pre-planning of learning activities
- Support utilization of template for centralized curriculum map including learning objectives, KPIs, etc.
- Provide Instructional Design strategy for various innovation projects including, but not limited to, learning journey, phased training, and competency mapping.
- Ensures continuous improvement by conducting evaluations and assessment measurements of learning programs. May include channel evaluations and other observations.
- Effectively partners with and leverages other Learning Organizations across organization to create full curriculum effectiveness.
- Designs effective technical training programs, including onboarding, train-the-trainer, new product launches, and existing product solutions.
- Designs and develops training materials for ease of localization with a focus on selling models
- May evaluate and recommend off-the-shelf/vendor training programs, training software, and other systems used to drive learning transfer.
- Keeps abreast of industry trends, both within our businesses and within the learning field.
- Redesigns existing programs with improvements to media and strategy; may also include redesigning for new/alternative delivery formats, including mobile delivery.
- Produces a variety of instructional media elements including graphics, illustrations, photographs, animation, text, video, and/or sound used to enhance online and instructor-led content.
- Bachelor’s degree in education, instructional design, communications, or related field.
- Graduate degree in Instructional Design (Preferred)
- 4+ years of Learning & Development/Content development experience
- Experience working within a Learning Management System (LMS)
- Experience working in Pharma and support roles for launches and commercialization highly sought after
- Experience in selling process and selling skills highly sought after
- Experience in managing multiple projects and timelines and to communicate clearly in written and verbal communications
- Demonstrated experience conducting needs assessments and designing and implementing training programs.
- Applies planning and organizational skills to establish an effective course of action.
- Working knowledge of media principles, including an understanding of the uses and advantages/disadvantages of different media channels.
