Job Title: Software Engineer III
Duration: 12 Months assignment with potential to extend
Available for the following locations: Sunnyvale CA, Burlingame CA, or Los Angeles CA. Remote will be considered as well.

Summary:
  • Reality Labs focuses on delivering client's vision through Augmented Reality (AR) and Virtual Reality (VR).
  • Reality Labs Silicon team is driving the state of the art forward with breakthrough work in computer vision, machine learning, mixed reality, graphics, displays, sensors, and new ways to map the human body.
  • Our chips will enable AR/VR devices where our real and virtual world will mix and match throughout the day.
  • We are seeking a Software Engineer to support modeling and implementation of image/video compression and processing IPs.
  • The successful candidate will be part of a team that includes algorithm, software, architecture, digital design, digital verification, firmware, pre-silicon platforms, and emulation experts.
 
Software Engineer Responsibilities:
  • Develop architectural model, and map SW to HW using pre-silicon platforms;
  • Design and implement image/video compression and processing IPs;
  • Build and enhance the image/video quality assessment framework: objective and subjective evaluation.
 
Top 3 must-have HARD skills:  
  • C++ programing language (must be extremely capable)
  • Python
  • Image/Video processing and compression
 
Good to have skills:     
  • SoC modeling background
  • Image and Video compression

  • Needing additional resources for compression IP development in Reality Lab Silicon Team

Typical Day in the Role:
  • Write code for SoC modeling and image and video quality evaluation
 
How will performance be measured:      
  • Implement the new framework for the compression IPs
  • Make sure the image and video quality is acceptable for compression Ips
 
Does this role deal with graphic and/or objectionable content to any extent?

Qualification:
  • 5+ years relevant experience.
  • 5+ years of programming experience in C++.
  • Experience in image/video compression and processing.
  • Familiar with scripting languages such as Python.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience
