Location: Juncos, PR
Pay Rate: $20.18 / Hourly
Summary:
Under general supervision, the Instrumentation Technician is responsible for performing calibration, repair, installation, troubleshooting, and documentation of instruments, process control systems, and equipment used in manufacturing, utility plants, and analytical labs. The role ensures all work is conducted with minimal impact to production and complies with cGMP and company's regulations.
Functions:
- Perform basic calibrations of instruments on process and utility equipment.
- Maintain an up-to-date spare parts inventory system for assigned equipment/systems.
- Complete calibration paperwork, instrument files, and work order documentation accurately.
- Participate in a comprehensive training program to enhance knowledge in instrumentation and plant operations.
- Assist in developing, revising, and updating SOPs related to work areas.
- Configure and repair microprocessor-based instruments and controllers.
- Troubleshoot and conduct basic repairs on process control and laboratory instruments.
- Ensure all activities adhere to CFRs, cGMPs, SOPs, and the company's policies.
- Conduct regular equipment certifications to verify compliance with industry standards and company procedures.
- Maintain an updated cGMP training record.
- Collaborate with operations staff to plan and schedule work activities to minimize production impact.
- Perform other assigned duties as required.
Education/Licenses:
- Associate’s degree and 2 years of maintenance experience OR High school diploma/GED and 4 years of maintenance experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proficiency in pneumatic, mechanical, and electronic instrumentation.
- Training or experience in analog/digital electronics, microprocessors, and computerized instrumentation.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Intermediate computer proficiency.
- Ability to work collaboratively within teams.
- Capability to seek external resources when necessary.
- Temperature and Pressure Instruments Calibration.
- Analytical Instruments Calibration.
- LOCK OUT/TAG OUT experience.
- GMP Documentation.
- Maximo Software experience.
- Sanitary Connection and Diaphragm valves experience.
