In addition, Operations provides essential risk management and controls to preserve and enhance the firm's assets and its reputation. For every new product launched and every trade executed, it is Operations that develops and manages the processes and controls that enable business flow.

Are you looking to broaden your technical understanding of the Control organization? You will have the opportunity to learn about Firm’s risk to ledger controls & reconciliations. The Control business unit is seeking an analyst/associate to join the team in Salt Lake City. The position includes helping drive the strategy of an evolving organization and partnering with many stakeholders to meet the needs of the business.

The position includes helping drive the strategy of an evolving organization and partnering with many stakeholders to meet the needs of the business. This includes regular interaction with various Client's teams including the Sales desks, Operations, Engineering, Legal and Compliance as well as interaction with external parties such as Prime Brokers, Clearing Agents, and regulators.

JOB DUTIES
  • Deliver banking, sales and trading and asset management capabilities to clients around the world.
  • Provide essential risk management and control, preserving and enhancing the Firm’s assets and its reputation.
  • Manage the risk of multiple functions that span the life cycle of a trade, including oversight of regulatory obligations, payment controls, and exceptions workflow such as ledger reconciliations.
  • Partner with Technology to design, build, and operate effective controls in a Straight-through Processing (STP) environment.
  • Provide control design expertise and implement the control framework as part of new business/activities and migration to strategic architecture.
  • Foster relationships across multiple areas within the Firm including trading desks, operations, technology, legal and compliance departments, and global groups.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE WE’RE LOOKING FOR
  • Highly collaborative, flexible, and team-focused with ability to interact effectively with a wide range of stakeholders
  • Previous experience in Operations or a related field a bonus
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to influence a wide range of stakeholders
  • Effective problem solving and critical thinking skills along with the ability to use discretion and good judgment
  • Competency with MS Suite, especially Excel and the ability to learn multiple programs quickly
  • Capability to prioritize and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Highly organized individual with attention to detail and excellent follow-through skills
  • Ability to balance tactical and strategic thinking
  • Project management skills
  • Experience with change management or process improvement is a bonus
  • Experience with ledger or other securities reconciliations is a bonus
SPECIAL SKILLS AND/OR LICENSES REQUIRED:
  • Risk frameworks including regulatory obligations, payments controls, and ledger reconciliation.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel including working with macros, pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and IF/AND formulas.
  • Working in a Straight-through Processing (STP) environment.
  • Working with the overall trade booking lifecycle including Pre-Trade, Trade Execution, Trade Clearing, Trade Settlement, and the final stage of Position and Risk Management.
  • Business analytics tools including Tableau or Alteryx.
Education:    
  • Bachelor’s degree
